Giltar Hotel

The most beautiful room I have stayed in! This was booked for me as a birthday surprise and I was over the moon with it. We stayed in the room that had the 3 big windows with one opening up onto a balcony. The room was massive and the bed was huge! Had everything you could need and was very clean. The view out into the ocean and onto the beach was breathtaking (especially at sunset). The hotel is walking distance from everything and easy to find, check in. Only issue is the parking as it is quite small and not very well organised. It would be better if the bays were numbered and you were allocated one when you book. We were worried if we moved the car our space would be taken and we wouldn't find another! Overall, a really beautiful place to stay and I highly recommend it.

Had lovely single room all updated clean rooms they had coffee tea in room but wish they had a biscuit go with tea and coffee also wish towels was in bathroom not on beds had shower had to walk in bedroom get a towel 🙈was in room 204 view of car parking in morning went down for a complimentary breakfast. It was lovely only thing was hash browns was soggy lovely choices for breakfast thou staff in restaurant was outstanding service very helpful, polite I love this hotel this best in Tenby facilities so good there great presentation great great job!👏 and thank you for a lovely stay princess pamela may x

Stayed here to watch the rugby on Saturday. Room was lovely and spacious and clean. We sat in the downstairs bar to watch the rugby on a big screen which was great. Breakfast was lovely. Altogether a lovely stay. Would book a seaview next time x

The Giltar is a hotel of contrasts. First of all the telphone booking process - very pleasant but unlike any hotel I've booked for many a year, I had to pay for our whole 3 day stay, not just a deposit which is the normal way. On checking in we were asked what time we wanted breakfast and dinner - not that they were very busy. Lovely hlepful staff though. We had booked a special room which did not disappoint - lovely comfortable super king size bed, a huge view across to Caldey Island, a large TV with nice comfy chairs, and a TCMF tray with mineral water BUT only one packet of biscuits (a bit mean !) Plus a wonderful bathroom with an excellent walk-in shower. Dinner in the almost empty dining roon was served by some really happy staff BUT we were given the same menu on each of the three nights - it was not very imaginative either, alrtight it was nicely cooked and presented but boring for 3 nights and hardly what I expect from a 4 star hotel. Now to the next contrast - breakfast. 10 out of 10 for taking individual cooked breakfast orders instead of those horrible so called hot buffets of barely warm food. BUT an extra £3.50 for any thing slightly different - again not what I experct in a 4 star hotel which is not particularly cheap. It gets worse ! The starter buffet was meagre to say the least, no prunes, no grapefruit segments, no cold meats or cheese, only 2 juices and some boxed cereals and fresh fruit that had only just come out of the fridge. And to crown it all what was quite obviously instant coffee. Oh dear, such a lovely hotel, a wonderful room and excellenty friendly staff everywhere - to be let down rather badly by a very basic food offering, certainly not what one expects in a 4 star hotel. We will return because this really cannot be their normal offering !

Absolutely faultless. Probably one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. It was spotless and the decor was amazing. The breakfast was great and the evening dinner was as well . Staff are friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely go back

I pre-booked an afternoon tea for 4 adults by phone and asked for a couple of dietary requirements. On arrival the greeting was warm and welcoming. The lady (Claire I think) was absolutely fabulous, she made us feel that nothing was too much trouble and popped in every now and again to see if we had everything we needed. When the sandwiches, Welsh cakes, Barmbrack cake, and the small cakes came to the table we thought that was it, then a plate of scones and Eton mess appeared…at that point Claire did say we can box anything you wish to leave. The food was absolutely delicious and we didn’t leave a crumb…we stayed for 2.5 hours and weren’t rushed at all. We’ve had a lot of afternoon teas over the years and this was one of the best. You won’t be disappointed.
