The Woolpack Hotel

£280.00 expected a lot more ! Well struggling to find anything positive to say about our accommodation the room is tired dated nothing gels stained carpet no attention to detail someone has no or little taste the music from below bar area is loud and thumps through above our TV I would say the rooms are dramatically over priced bathroom light in main room with chrome kitchen sockets so disappointed as this was a surprise for my wife celebrating our wedding anniversary - The staff seem friendly and accommodating and the pub seems cosy and well presented but we are not sleeping in there I really couldn’t recommend this to anyone looking for something special

We hired the woolpack barn and garden for our wedding venue on 17/08/2024. The team were so professional and were a huge part in making our day so perfect. The communication we had from the very start , made planning the day an enjoyable experience. We chose to have a BBQ as our wedding breakfast. There were so many options to choose from and all of our guests commented on how good the food was. In the lead up, we had several items being delivered and all if this was accommodated with ease and good communication. On the day, everything was set up as we had described. All of ours guests were served promptly and by friendly staff. There was plenty of space in the car park for our live band to unload and prepare for the evening. Everything was tidied away quickly in preparation for the next step. Our timeline for the day was kept to with ease, from handing out welcome drinks, to giving out thank you flowers and cutting out cake for the guests and everything in-between. We and a few if our guests stayed in the hotel and everyone commented on how beautiful and pretty the rooms were. We stayed in nanette rose which had a view of the church, the bed was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. We can't sing praises high enough. My stay at The Woolpack was disappointing and could not recommend it. The fire alarm went off in the early hours and the guests had to stay outside until someone came to check the hotel. There was no apology or recognition that this had occurred.

Just a one-night stay when visiting the nearby Chapel Down Vineyard. We had a nice room, very clean and comfortable, with the sloping floors you expect in a lovely old building. Very good dinner (home-made pie) and breakfast. Helpful staff.

The Woolpack is an historic building with charm and character. Our room was very spacious and pleasing, with a modern ensuite that had been thoughtfully and skilfully integrated with the building's fabric. The lighting was pleasing and functional. We had a rather original view straight onto the church and its graveyard which in fact was picturesque and added to the unique charm of the place. We found the staff efficient, friendly and accommodating. Lost one star because there is still a little way to go avoiding single use plastics, the toilet macerator is unpleasantly loud and the shower screen is not sufficient to avoid a lot of water getting onto the bathroom floor.

We had an early dinner here on a Thursday night in June. My wife ordered the fish which turned out to be off. She wasn't well for 48 hours afterwards which spoilt an otherwise rather nice 24 hour mini break away for us. But the wine and service was nice.

The owners have wrought miracles with this very old pub. If you are like quirky rooms and don't mind sloping floorboards, you will enjoy this place. Importantly there is free and easy parking in the backyard of the pub right in the centre of Tenterden. The food was good at dinner time but the breakfasts could be improvded a lot. Staff were very helpful in explaining how things worked and in fiing TV problems,

Excellent service and great food and drink. An overall brilliant experience. We would highly recommend. Excellent Selection of beers and wines from the Balfour Winery. We enjoyed a special lunch in memory of our mum’s 70th birthday celebration.

Unfortunately back in March we had a debacle of a stay.Stained bedding,no sheet but a duvet cover used as one that didn't even fit. Shambles of an experience in the restaurant with long long long waits,missing items,some items fridge cold instead of hot,not allowed what dessert we wanted.All whilst watching a prospective wedding couple get treated like royalty and get amazing food.They were the only other people in the restaurant, so it ******! Anyway,after complaining, a Balfour Hospitality representative contacted us and gave us a full refund which is totally amazing and very generous; but; there's always a but. He said he wanted us to see how Balfour Hospitality do it properly and wanted us to spend a complimentary night at one of their other venues.To this day we have heard nothing and received no response to our messages.Im not after the free night, I just want you to not promise people a fabulous complimentary night if it was all lies.Our experience of both Balfour Hospitality and The Woolpack Tenterden is bad,very bad!
