Tenterfield Motor Inn

I would like to say that the room was generally clean and comfortable. However, the lack of crockery and cutlery is an ongoing issue with this hotel. Not everyone is feeling like going out for meals after driving all day and when ordering take out or bringing your own food it is necessary to have the means to serve and eat it. The bear minimum in the way of complimentary toiletries is provided, hand wash was not included. A small plastic jug half full of water is not a suitable healthy alternative to Bottled water which should be provided for drinking and coffee or tea. Mostly the television did not have service, sound only and no picture only. There were no extra pillows provided and the ones that were provided were very thin and flat.

We made a last minute booking to check in for a rainy night. The reception was friendly and helpful. We received a free upgrade to a deluxe room. It was convenient and very quiet for the night; a kitchenette area with microwave, toaster and kettle. A comfortable queen bed and ensuite bathroom with a good hot shower. Safe parking undercover as well. And a free continental breakfast delivered to the room in the evening. The only feedback to the reception would be to get some of their tv channels tuned to show the pictures, as we could only get a few of the standard channels with the picture, but sky tv news only had the sound and no picture. However, I would go back if we needed a stopover.

Great place after a hard ride along rocky river road, definitely stay in Tenterfield if you do it. The rooms were nice, the staff were exceptionally helpful and polite.Only thing to remember is Tenterfield closes down early for all of us City Dwellers
