Holiday Inn Terre Haute

Stayed here one night as we were making our way back to south Texas. Rooms are clean and beds are firm but comfortable. Staff is friendly and efficient. Hotel is connected to the local outpost of the Longhorn Steakhouse, which we found quite good for dinner. Water pressure in the bathroom sink was very low. Hotel is showing signs of wear and tear, and needs a refresh before it goes further down hill. Lots of complimentary off street parking.

Excellent hotel. The staff are amazing! I wish I had the name of the lady who worked a night shift that helped me, but I don't. I know she was relatively new to this hotel. Check in was a breeze. I traveled here for a family emergency and the hotel was accomdating to my middle of the night arrivals and departures when needed. The main door was locked during the night and front desk kept an eye out for problems. One my first night I didnt have an issue with a guest across the hall and because I was traveling alone I was not comfortable staying in my room. The lady at the front desk switched my room to another floor and then accompanied me to my room to collect my belongings as she knew I was not comfortable. The breakfast was great at this location with lots of assortment each day. I stayed 3 nights. The room was always clean and fresh towels daily. The breakfast ladies were super friendly as well and always kept things well stocked. I didnt use the pool but it looked very appealing! I would stay at this location again.

Used to stay here frequently with a few of my guys but over the past couple years the place has gone downhill. Trash in parking lot, dirty bathrooms in the lobby with no toilet paper, have to get down to breakfast by 9am because they stop cooking early. Most of the staff are nice enough but you can tell they don’t want to be there. Went down one morning and one of the older ladies at the counter was asleep, another time was loudly screaming at the phone while we were in line. On my last stay got checked into a dirty room. Hair on the floor, pee on the toilet, pillows smelled like cigarettes and some hair in the bed. I slept on the couch because I was told they didn’t have another room. I’ve asked to speak with the manager the last couple trips but was told each time by the clerk she did not come to work that day and they didn’t know when she would be coming in. Wow. They’ve also really messed up my bills. Left messages to get it fixed and no response. My crew and I have switched to a Drury inn down the road. Much cleaner, cheaper, and everyone has been welcoming. Also close to Cracker Barrel when we want a break from hotel food!!

This hotel was disgusting. The carpets are so old and warn down, the second floor smelled so bad of cigarettes, we had to be moved to 5th floor. When complained of the smell the first time , someone went up and sprayed air freshener down the hall to mask it. The pool Area was disgusting, cigarette butts on tables, hunan hair all over floor, no clean towels, all used towels thrown everywhere. Would not recommend.

Good stay this weekend. On Saturday evening the lady that worked front desk was wonderful. It was a very busy night with all kinds of kids for the XC meet in town. My group wanted a place to meet and they let us sit at tables in the breakfast area and got us more chairs. Then I needed a extra comforter and she went down the hall to get one. I would like to tell someone to give that lady a pay raise because she was truly someone that helped us and made our stay much better. Thank you very much.

Nightmare stay at this Holiday Inn. Building lights shine up and directly in my room. Parking lot lights do the same. ‘Room Darkening’ curtains designed to not actually close. Beams of light fell directly on my bed. Hotel staff was indifferent and argumentative about the problem. First I was told “It’s a maintenance issue.” and there was nothing she could do. Then staff member said “Some people like to sleep with the lights on.” Suffice to say I got no sleep that night in a $179 room. Staff didn’t seem to care one bit. I was offered “points” which of course are basically worthless for the occasional traveler. A really terrible experience. I will never stay there again, and avoid all Holiday Inns to avoid a repeat experience.

Larger sized Queen beds. Large clean room. The free breakfast tasted like real eggs and Turkey patties. The fruit was fresh. Staff was very helpful. Close to several food places. Newer motel and modern looking. Stayed at several motels here, and this is my favorite.

We were traveling when we ran into the storm of the year. We decided to get off the Interstate 70 W. We were going to go to another Hotel , but decided to stay at the Holiday Inn. We were meet with a friendly staff. They gave us a good rate and let us go into our room early. The room was clean and up to date. We ended staying for two nights because of weather issues. We needed an e-note printed from our IPhone and the front desk printed for us. Not sure if we will ever be here again, but We would stay here. Breakfast is provided and it was ok. There is a Restaurant attached to the Hotel and it is very good. They give a discount for guests.
