The Suites at Mr Grouper

I loved this hotel. Location is a bit far from main area but it is close to beach. Would rent car. Large rooms. Clean. Great beds. Rooftop pool. View of fish fry. Fast check in. Rum punch on arrival. Sad we didn’t try restaurant but another trip. Yadley was awesome. Would stay again.

Clean and quiet. Short walk to the beach. Short drive to everywhere on the island. Great food at the restaurant. Near everything you will need. Right next to the Fish Fry. Our first floor balcony door was broken on arrival. They had it fixed within 30 mins.

Very happy with our stay here, The Suites at Mr. Grouper. At check-in, we were greeted with a nice cold Rum punch. The lady working the reception was very nice and helpful with any questions we had. When we first walked in the room you could smell how fresh and clean the place was. We stayed in room 201 on the second level for 7 days. The kitchen is supplied with only basic essentials which we were aware off so we brought stuff from home including a hot plate. Eating out can get pretty expensive in Turks so we cooked breakfast and lunch then went out to eat in the evenings. I included a picture of the $35 hot plate we got on amazon, very flat and light so easy to pack in your checked bag. The King Size bed was very comfortable. The Wifi is also very good in the room and on the roof top deck. We used the pool a few times with our inflatables we brought from home. There are several loungers for you to use and some sectional sofas. We went there there every night with a glass of wine. Before you arrive arrive they will send you the code for the gates, nice to have you car parked in a secured area. Every morning you'll see a guy sweeping and cleaning the parking lot, the whole place is very clean. We had a rental car for the week which you absolutely need if you gonna visit Turks and Caicos. Every morning we walked down Grace Bay Rd pass the Seven Star resort which was an easy 2km walk one way. If you walk straight out from Mr. Grouper down Princess Drive to the beach, it will take you 9 minutes to get there. The Fish Fry every Thursday is right in you own backyard, so if you plan to buy souvenirs or t-shirts, you'll get them at a much better price there then you would down at the Grace Bay area. Mr.Grouper also has a souvenir shop with better pricing then downtown. Next door is a gas station, it looks sketchy but it's not. There are some snacks you can get there and right next to it, is 2 small souvenir shops. Very friendly people work there. There's a little bar in the back (patio balcony side) called Shots. Not sure what goes on there but the music is very loud and every time the door opens you'll hear the music and it goes all night (5 am) . I slept with earplugs a couple of times, so bring some with you.

We arrived check in process was smooth. Once arriving after a long day of travel we got everything moved into our room and the room was very updated. A couple small issues were addressed and resolved fast, but our tv didn’t work and we stayed three nights the tv didn’t get fixed until the last night we were there and with kids it was super disappointing. Each day we had to ask for clean towels and the last night the lady didn’t want to help it was as if it was an inconvenience. We checked out the pool area it was ok but we never used it. When I checked out when we left I voiced my frustrations with the tv and towel issues and was told oh ok I’m sorry.

The experience was amazing. The hospitality was great- they treated me very respectfully. Everyone from the check-in to the restaurant has went above and beyond. They definitely make you feel like you’re at home. As somebody who travels the world, I will say this I am beyond impressed with everything! I highly recommend!!!

When booking this was one of the cheaper options…ITS PERFECT LOCATION. It’s walkable from the beach, we felt safe and very easy..not many turns. It’s right beside Mr Groupers restaurant which is a popular spot. Fish fry Thursday happens right beside it which is also a must do. The rooms were nice and modern. They don’t claim to have amenities however I did have the expectation there would be hand soap, shampoo, like a usual hotel and there wasn’t. But you can buy some at a shop. The front desk is its own separate small building. All staff were very nice and helpful. One even went above and beyond for us!

My husband and 2 teens just had a nice stay here the week of Christmas. The room was a good size for the 4. It was nice having a full sized fridge and small kitchen area. The rooftop pool was great and most times we were the only ones up there. WiFi works best up there too. Room was super clean and comfortable. If you think you will want a roll away bed make sure you request in advance. The sleeping was a bit tight sharing beds with teenagers so I wish I had secured one. Restaurant on site was good but most nights we walked a mile to town and back to eat. Beach was a short walk but there aren’t chairs provided so bring the towels they provide if you want to lounge on the beach. Chair rentals down Grace Bay are $50 for 2 chairs and umbrella. Fish Fry on Thursday is a big party outside your window with loud music until about 9:45/10. Great value for what you get compared to the places on the beach which are super expensive.

I had issues booking on Airbnb and Yadley took over! It was saying sold out online but I’m grateful to get a room! The check in was very professional with Sabrina. The rooms are renovated and have a kitchen it was very comfortable, very clean and no mosquitos, overall no issues. The king bed was firm I usually like a soft bed though. Make sure you get the code to come in and out the gates. The Wi-Fi worked great! There is a restaurant very busy the menu looks good. Also has Vegan options! If you’re in a rush though this is definitely not the spot. Thank you again to Yadley beautiful woman also. Appreciate her hospitality! Cimone Destiny C

We were very happy to spend the week at The Suites at Mr. Grouper which is indeed a boutique hotel. On an island where everyday expenses really add up, it was great to have a comfortable economical stay. The rooms are exactly as described and pictured on their website and kept very clean. We did rent a car from EZ Motors which is affiliated with Mr Grouper and had the best rates. Cars here are point a to b as there are many businesses who will pick you up or send a taxi. If you are a walker, it’s 8 minutes to the beach. You can also walk to the strip which is a very easy mile we walked daily to have breakfast. They offered room service every 3 days where they cleaned the room spotless. Very impressive. They do provide beach towels and will give you additional upon request. The room has all the essentials needed but without a cooktop or way to prepare a dinner which wasn’t a problem for us. If we wanted casual we went to Grace Gourmet and made a salad or purchased from the deli hot bar. Mr Grouper is on premises and we did eat there which was good as well. Additionally, I recommend walking to the end of the street to Bay Cafe for the view and breakfast, Shay Cafe, Sip and Serve and Cocovan for dinner. There is a fish fry in the parking lot next door which is a bit loud until 10pm on Thursdays but we enjoyed that as well and it’s a don’t miss. Not only would I stay here again but I would highly recommend to others.
