First of all, I want to start with the positive things The fact that the rooms were cleaned twice a day was something we had never seen before. The minibar was quite sufficient. The room service team were very friendly and helpful. The restaurants were not too crowded and the standard of the food was always high. The chef who made the omelettes for breakfast and the chef who made the desserts was outstanding. The water sports team was very friendly and helpful. It is enough to join the snorkeling tours every day. You can see animals such as turtles, sharks and stingrays without joining the tours. The negative aspects are as follows; Internet is very slow in the hotel. It needs to be improved. There should be chips or nuts in the bars next to the drinks.

Thudufushi is a charming little island in the south of the Ari Atoll that we have visited six times. It is the perfect blend of understated luxury and authentic Maldivian charm, making it an ideal place to relax and unwind. The atmosphere is pleasantly quiet, with an international mix of guests, many of whom come from Italy and the DACH region. The main languages spoken are Italian and English. The island can be reached by seaplane in about 30 minutes from Malé. With a diameter of about 150 meters, it is easy to explore and can be walked around in a few minutes. Thudufushi is a typical island with lush vegetation. While both sides of the island are lined with beautiful white sandy beaches, the eastern side shows signs of erosion. One of the most interesting aspects is the absence of breakwaters, which helps to preserve the natural beauty of the area. The island is completely surrounded by coral reefs, making it a paradise for diving and snorkeling. The approximately 40 beach bungalows and 25 water villas are decorated in a simple, elegant white, which, together with the turquoise water, creates a harmonious overall picture. The villas blend perfectly with the natural beauty of the island. We had booked a water villa and received an upgrade to a villa with a pool. These are spacious and have a large terrace with a pool and direct access to the sea. Privacy is excellent thanks to the generous distance between the villas. The interior design is high quality and minimalist in white. Signs of wear and tear are visible in some places, but this does not detract from the overall impression. The villas are thoroughly cleaned twice a day. The service at Thudufushi is first class. From the moment we were met at the airport to the staff on the island, we always felt welcome. All our requests were fulfilled with a smile. One particularly impressive moment was when a member of staff ran halfway across the island to tell us that he had spotted a manta ray near an empty villa! The culinary offerings at Thudufushi were one of the highlights of our stay. The all-inclusive package is very generous and includes a wide selection of food and drinks. The quality of the food is always very high. Whether in the main restaurant with its varied buffet or in the restaurant on the water, the ingredients are fresh, the preparation creative and the presentation very appealing. As guests of the water villas, we had access to the elegant water restaurant. The atmosphere there is relaxed and elegant, with a breathtaking view of the turquoise sea. The dishes, which are served à la carte, are excellent and prepared with great care. However, the selection of dishes is somewhat limited compared to the buffet, which can lead to repetition during a longer stay. The main restaurant offers a generous buffet with an impressive variety of dishes, including international classics and traditional Maldivian cuisine, ensuring something for everyone. There is so much to love about diamonds Thudufushi, it’s absolutely stunning. This is our 4th stay & Diamonds have never disappointed. The transfers are always smooth, check in is effortless and the food & beverage selection is amazingly good. The villas are spacious, very comfortable and have everything you need. Excellent value for money!! It’s also really lovely to see the GM & assistant manager (Jaco and Carla) present and always available to guests even hosting weekly cocktails. Shout out to watersports, we had fun with the stand up paddle boarding and kayaking which was free! Those complaining about beach erosion, this is completely natural for ALL resorts in the Maldives but a lot of resorts will pump stand back which 100% of the time kills the coral reef. Coral reefs are under great threat and we commend diamonds for NOT sand pumping. We really love your ocean initiatives with your adopt a frame program, In-house marine lab and your amazing coral reef restoration program. If only more resorts followed your lead!
