Dunnet B&B Escapes

What an amazing place to stay. We stayed in the Mansfield Suite, a very large double room, ensuite bathroom with shower and small kitchen area with fridge kettle etc. A large balcony overlooking the bay was delightful. Sheila woke us at about 11:30 as the northern lights were visible, what an amazing experience. Breakfast was pre-ordered and delivered our room, absolutely delicious. What an incredible place to stay, highly recommend.

What a superb stay we had a Dunnet Bay Escapes! I thought that I had prebooked online. An hour or two before our planned arrival, I thought I'd check on check-in time. I could find no booking confirmation. Our bank account did not show the expected debit either. Panic set in. I emailed to enquire whether Dunnet Bay Escapes was in fact expecting us. I received a very prompt reply from Sheila advising she had no reservation for us. However, to our immense relief, she said that accommodation was available and offered to reserve a garden cottage for us. Crisis averted. That was the warmth and calm professionalism that characterised our stay at Dunnet Bay Escapes. Our accommodation was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and well equipped. From the comfortable recliners on the porch are unimpeded views over expansive lawn to the waters of Dunnet Bay. It is a heavenly place. Supper was a convenient three minute walk away at an hotel behind the property while our pre-ordered breakfasts were hand-delivered piping hot to our door. We felt like pampered VIP's. Our two-night stay at Dunnet Bay Escapes was definitely the accommodation highlight of our eight-night Scotland roadtrip.

One word! Superb!! Sheila is an amazing host, her attention to detail is second to none! This is 5 star accommodation at its best, immaculate and so classy! Food is fantastic and the views from the balcony of our room were out of this world! Loved our stay there.

Sheila & John are wonderful attentive hosts. What an amazing home they have! We have stayed 3 times this year, bay room, mansefield room & baki garden suite! What a delight every one of them. The decor, the furniture everything is done to such a high standard! Hot tub is luxurious. Breakfast is the best we have ever had staying anywhere!! Literally on the doorstep of the beach & a 2 minute walk to the forest. 1 minute walk from the local hotel & Rock rose distillery. We cannot wait to return!!

The most amazing place to stay - from start to finish was just so brilliant! Shelia and John are such wonderful hosts and we’re so attentive!! They have the most beautiful home. 5 stars all around. We will 100% be back 🥰

As we were in need of some peace at the start of the new year we chose to visit Dunnet Bay and stay in a lodge at DB Escapes. For a start it is a stunning coast line with dramatic views and is a real perfect relaxing place. We were not expecting such a lovely well designed, cosy and clean place, nor Shiela, the fabulous host!! The lodge was such a relaxing place and deliciously warm for the middle of January. The fact I could lie in bed, watch the sea and hear the surf (front door open!) made it like my own little bit of heaven. The lodge had everything you could need but special mention has to go to Sheila’s breakfasts. Excellent choices, possibly the best porridge I’ve ever had, eggs anyway you like all cooked to perfection (how do you make scrambled eggs so light Shiela??) and husband adored his Scottish breakfast every morning. I think these breakfasts will become a thing of legend 😂. We left after four nights of pure relaxation. Shiela you’re a superstar and we will be back! As guests again or if we get ourselves moved up to Dunnet. You really ought to treat yourself and book, you won’t regret it xx
