Premier Inn Thurso

Had to send the steaks back as they were still alive despite asking for well done, they were redone and came back tough as old boots, to be fair the lady offered our child an ice cream as way of an apology. The breakfast was a joke, lack of items and the stuff that was there was dried up or burnt, "Chef" was missing in action to ask for fresh stuff. No fruit available and the bacon was like slates. Use Premier Inn a lot but the food here was easily the worst ever served to us. Staff were nice enough but there were far too few of them. I wont go back here due to the food but did have a decent sleep.

We travelled up from Inverness on the train on Friday for a two night stay, enabling us to get the bus to John O'Groats on the Saturday. The room was lovely and comfortable with air-conditioning, for which we were grateful as temperatures were up in the mid twenties (almost unprecedented for the north coast of Scotland!) We ate out Friday night and Saturday morning but opted to eat at the hotel Saturday night and Sunday morning. Breakfast is £10.99 for adults with kids eating for free. We noticed they have an offer for £26.99, for a two course dinner, with a drink, plus breakfast the next morning, so we opted for that. The food at dinner and breakfast was of very decent quality and the serving staff were very friendly. Having stayed at the Travelodge in Inverness the previous two nights, my opinion is that premier inn (although usually a little more expensive when they're in the same town) is just at that next level in quality and comfort.

The meal deal is excellent value and I found the staff very welcoming and friendly with pleasant smiles to greet you. The food was lovely, upgraded to a steak which was cooked perfectly and had the banoffee cheesecake which was very nice, cheesecake not to sweet so it was perfect. Thank you to Tracy, Emma, Demi, for great service and thank you to both the Chefs Hannah and Luke for a lovely meal..

Really good place to stay. Room was excellent. Staff were professional and friendly. Extra shout to Nyomi who was a star. Evening meal/breakfast deal was very good value.

This review isn’t about the hotel necessarily it’s about the stuff that we’re working the night we stayed there. It was the Thurso hotel in Scotland. Fiona was incredible and went above and beyond for my daughter and family. And also Zara Michael Ross Emma and Tannon. Thanks for a great stay.
