Hotel Management Ripped us off- - Booked a double queen room online paying in advance. Traveling with family- 2 young kids under 7- we needed 2 beds... After a long travel day... We arrive to a desk that informs me my reservation was only showing for a single bed in their systems- didn't think it was a big deal and show the front desk my reservation confirming the double bed booking... desk shares my booking confirmation for 2 beds with hotel management then management asked me to have my travel credit card company call them. Chase Travel calls management confirmed the double queen room booking- ... But for some reason my confirmation/travel cards verification didn't matter.. Hotel management said their systems showed it was a single bed and didn't honor my booking of double queen beds that was booked and confirmed through a top tier travel partner. Hotel managements solution was to charge us an additional $65 more for 2 beds. I said that $65 was ridiculous and would have been willing to pay a more fair price like $10 just to be done with it because I had young tired kids with me- but hotel management said $65 was as low as they could go... A good hotel would have just put us in one of their many open double bed rooms- I requested a refund and was informed my online booking was non refundable and that it was the travel partners fault their system showed a single/when i booked a double. We refused to pay their $65 upcharge out of principal and left the hotel without checking in-Feeling completely ripped off we are disputing charges with credit card company under fraud and are reaching out choice hotels corp office. You book a double- get a single then are hit up for more money on the double bed when you are in the lobby because hotel management knows you already paid for the room/have no choice.
