What an amazing stay. Great customer service, amazing rooms, and lots to do. Pool table, board games, puzzles, and reading area. The 24hr snacks are a nice touch as well! Will be back for sure!

We are regulars here at Balsam Suites. We love the cleanliness, the personable owners & staff. There is a large assortment of books/puzzles/ magazines to borrow. The little cooking area for guests is efficient with easy access( clean up after use, of course). Our room is comfortable, great linens, & spotlessly clean. This is our home away from home! Feel secure with the security entrance always being locked. Situated in the City Centre…super to walk iwith restaurants, stores etc easy access. Love this place!

This was a great spot that felt cozy and comfortable while I was working in Timmins. Very friendly and accommodating, clean, and lots of amenities available in the kitchenette. The bed was also super comfortable which is important. The location was great for me, relative to my work, but the evening was a little sketchy to be out walking around.

I gave this establishment a 5-star review in 2017 and have been recommending it ever since. Countless rooms have been rented here on my behalf. I rented three rooms a year in advance for the recent Timmins mining show, anticipating our company would attend as usual. We did stay. Unfortunately, the quality of one of the rooms assigned to my colleague was unacceptable, leaving me embarrassed for having recommended the place. I gave him my room and drove to Kirkland Lake to find accommodations, as there was nothing available in Timmins. I don't need to go into all the details - the staff knows the situation. However, I'm disappointed with the lack of care and understanding afterward. The general response I received was, "It's too bad your colleague didn't like the room. It doesn't matter, though, because we rented the subpar room to someone desperate, and they were happy to have a place to stay. So, tough luck." In this instance, "sub-par" means my colleague was provided with a basement room in a run-down building under "renovation." The room was all torn up, with bare wires hanging in the shower, no Wi-Fi, and no air conditioning.

A great stay — individual style, laid out like a one-bedroom condo rather than a motel room, really nice common area with games and reading chairs, good selection of snacks and breakfast, warm welcome. Also, there’s a parking area by the building but the host also provides a parking pass to use on the street until after 11 p.m., so it’s easy to come and go, and to unload and load luggage at the front door. Really, one of the most pleasant surprises my wife and I have come across in decades of travelling.

Each time we come back to Balsam Suites BIR, we feel very welcomed. We are pampered with a lovely Suite which is so comfortable & cozy! Our beds are of excellent quality as is the linens. The whole place is impeccably clean. It is so convenient to have snacks/coffee right within the building night or day. It is in the downtown core, so it is great for walking to the little shops, banks & restaurants. Post office right next door. I love the security features for getting into the building. Staff & Owners are all very friendly & show true Hospitality.

Family run hotel, very accommodating and helpful staff. Room and bathroom clean. Good shower. Laundry room available. Nice communal sitting room with books and games. Would definitely stay here again. (Written on behalf of my husband)
