Port William Inn

This hotel is set in a magical location above a cove with amazing sea views. The restaurant/pub is lovely, and all the staff were very friendly. We climbed up the headland opposite the hotel to sit and watch the sunset over the sea, just beautiful.

Beautiful location! The breakfast was 10/10! The bed was super comfy Staff were really friendly and helpful Location is amazing We took 2 Small dogs and they leave a little box of goodies for them which is a lovely touch! Ate here too and the food was lovely - pretty expensive drinks (£14 for a double G&T seems excessive) but I would recommend this place and defo come back for the views and that super king side bed alone!

Such a great place to stay! The room was attractive and clean, the bed very comfortable and the sound of the waves rolling in at night, very calming. Breakfast was excellent as was our evening meal in the lovely, modern restaurant overlooking the cove. All staff were very friendly and incredibly helpful. We would definitely return.

We had an amazing stay at the Port William! We were there for four nights and enjoyed the entire stay. It's a great mix of character and comfort, and we loved the convenience of having a pub on the ground floor for breakfast and dinner. The first night we were there, they had live music; the second night there was pub quiz night. I felt like a local! We also enjoyed the in-room tea/coffee and Cornish shortbread. Very close to both Tintagel and Port Isaac, which were our two destinations.

Hotel and restaurant very clean, tidy, comfortable and cosy. Lovely setting visually and the sounds of the water crashing on the rocks through the day and night was fantastic. Really soothing to the soul. Staff friendly and service tip top. Had dinner from the 'new menu' basic burger and chips - decidley average and not worth £19 each. Breakfast was lovely, room was warm, quiet, clean and excellent provisions - tea, coffee, biscuits, water & fridge.

Exceptionally warm, welcoming and accommodating staff - thank you all. Very comfortable bed, excellent linen and towels, room well equipped. Peaceful night's sleep followed by an excellent breakfast. Superb location. Hope to return later this year - everything was just perfect!

We have been enjoying visits to this pub for many years but our last visit for lunch was disappointing My wife's battered fish was unacceptably dry. My dish of sole paupiettes was not well executed; though the sole was well-cooked the crab risotto it came with was drowned in a large volume of tasteless watery broth. I suspect that if the broth had been reduced this could have been much more enjoyable.

On our first night the entrance/exit to the pub car park was blocked by two cars ( possibly staff cars ). I mentioned this at the bar and was told "Oh, it should sort itself out!" Had we wanted to leave the car park this would have been impossible. The 'Cosy' room was very small, and there was only a rack for hanging clothes. We had booked a 'Cosy' room since we were told these rooms were the only dog-free rooms. The bed base was dirty, and in the ensuite the skirting was coming away from the wall under the towel rail. Also the mirror light only worked on one side. The shower hose leaked near the shower head, so the shower pressure was poor. The mattress was somewhat uncomfortable ,and we felt pitched to the sides. We actually left a day early, having booked five days, in order to catch up on missed sleep.

A fabulous pub/restaurant located right by the sea. Mary, front of house, was a gem - found us a great tavle and catered to our every need. We had lovely fish and chips with all the extras, (compliments to the chef!) great beer and the Astronomers Shiraz was delightful All in all a great time had by us. Thankyou!
