Helenekilde Badehotel

we stayed in December 2024 and I was surprised that our junior suite on upper floor was missing a wardrobe. Spiral staircase to our room in 2'nd floor also was a slight challenge - but I made it with 2 large suitcases ;-) Breakfast in the restaurant did not offer too much choice and when I requested an omlet, I was told that there are boiled eggs available. That's right - but there were cold at the second day when we went to breakfast a liitle bit later. Okay. Interior was very cozy - Sauna has a magnificant view on the sea - everybody was very charming. At the first day, we had construction works that were very noisy - but the lovely lady at the receiption desk offered us bikes for free - as a compensation deal. Thanks for that. We changed our room to first floor - that was a great choice. Ceiling was much higher than in the room at the 2nd floor and we had a wonderful wardrobe. Signature dinner was very tasty - but the dinner did not change next day. We've chosen an "a la carte" menue. Menue size was very small - and since we were outside all day - we still were hungry when we went to bed. In the roo mthere was no TV. We did not miss it - but I was surpirsed. But as far as I understood, you could ask the consierge to bring a TV to your room. Lovely hotel, great interior, friendly staff, but I will not stay there again. Price and service do not match.

Our group stayed in this hotel mid September 2024. We tried to confirm if the wifi was good enough for some important business meetings. We sent emails which they never responded to. We called several times and waited a total of 20 minutes and they never responded. One of our colleagues had to book somewhere else given the lack of response and they would not allow him to cancel. It is a take it or leave it attitude at this hotel. They never apologized for not responding to our emails and argued that it is normal to wait 20 minutes for their reception to respond! We spoke to reception personnel and two of their superiors and all were supportive of their actions. Beware of what to expect!

Unfortunately ended in a very bad experience. We arrived and had a lovely lunch and went out for dinner. We went to bed around 1030 and we’re woken up at 12AM to what we think was coming back from the town or people leaving the restaurant. Or potentially staff talking outside. We were staying in room number nine and was unfortunately so loud we could barely sleep. when we spoke to reception the next day they offered no Discount, even though we explained the situation and got maybe two hours of sleep. They basically told us because we didn’t know where the noise came from. They couldn’t see anyone on their cameras that there’s nothing they could do. They just didn’t care. Beauty location and nice lunch but horrible sleep.

I don’t often write reviews but I thought this hotel and staff deserve the recognition. We had a couple of teething issues when we arrived but Nina the Operations Manager dealt with it brilliantly. The location is stunning, it has a great relaxed vibe and we also had a fantastic dinner here. All in all I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Attended a birthday celebration at the hotel. Looked forward to it as we have stayed there before. Was supprised by the unfriendly receptionist who was in no way welcoming. Her behaviour and a few of the older colleagues was horrible. During our stay, she complained openly to other staff members how “we took up the entire grass area” ( for a yoga class) Note that the celebrating couple had booked the entire hotel, so no other guests than us. The children playing hide and go seek made it impossible for them to clean the rooms - which was also voiced in the middle of the hotel as many guests overheard. It would have be a more professional approach if she contacted one of the parentes to bring this to our attention instead of this. She and a few other colleagues made the stay somewhat unpleasant and I do not believe that any of the guests will chose Helenekilde for a similar event.

Great and cozy hotel on the Danish Riviera with fantastic views and surroundings. A perfect get away to take it easy and enjoy some time as a couple, with friends or by yourself. Unfortunately the restaurant service doesn't live up to the location, ambience of the hotel, the views and price of the stay. The food was good but exceptional slow service with constant mistakes during the dinners for example forgetting orders, forgetting cutlery, forgetting bread, forgetting salt & pepper. Eating here will require a lot of patient, but everything else great.
