Golden Bear Motel

Great overnight stay. Big clean bed and a couch area. Agree with the other review that says it was the cleanest stay of the trip so far. Awesome staff. Very quiet. Will stay here again if travel back through Tok. It was refreshing to have a big flatscreen and crisp white sheets during our travels.

This was the cleanest place we've seen in the road. We received excellent service and were able to check in midnight. Worth the stop. They are still renovating their restaurant. We were able to get a pet friendly room and one non pet friendly. Internet works great.

The new owners were very welcoming and sweet! We were very pleased with the renovated rooms… everything was great! The beds were super comfortable and the rooms were very clean! We were only supposed to stay for a night, but decided to extend an extra day!

The new owners are a wonderful young couple who really care about their customers. Part of the hotel has been remodeled and they have a small team helping update everything else. My pet friendly room was clean and equipped with everything I needed to include a Keurig style coffee pot, refer, microwave, etc. I have stayed in 5-star hotels and 1-star hotels and sometimes it's not about the "stuff" or updated rooms, it's about the staff and their desire to be sure you have the most comfortable stay possible. Tok was booked. I tried each hotel as I drove through town. The Golden Bear team could have charged me anything and after driving two days I would have paid it. However, they discounted my room as the only one left was a double and I only needed a single. This felt like home. I'm an older female, traveling alone with a large puppy and this felt safe. I was able to walk my puppy at midnight without concern. I hope to be able to secure a room on my return trip as I will be a yearly customer. Thank you, Golden Bear, in Tok Alaska.

The new owners have installed all new carpeting and painted the entire interior. The rooms are fresh and bright and smell clean. The owners are very attentive and working hard to upgrade this property. The internet is fast and the TV works great for live or streaming. I highly recommend this property to stay in this town.

I stayed at the Golden Bear for 8 days and would gladly recommend to all people trying to find a peaceful, clean environment to lay there head. My room was spotless and had a mini fridge, microwave and a dual burner for pots/pans. There is high speed internet for late night browsing or simply entertaining the kids before bed. The owners are happy cheerful people who go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and make sure you are taken care of. Thank you Matthew and Susie. 5 stars
