The Woods Farm Jervis Bay

We had a great weekend at the Woods Farm! The staff (esp Jaice) were super friendly and helpful. The kids loved the animal feeding and egg collecting. Plus making fresh wood fired pizza using the pizza oven was a great way to spend an evening. We would love to come visit again!

We stayed in the glamping tents with our 2 kids and had so much fun. The weather wasn’t kind to us unfortunately but we all felt snug and cosy in our tent. Very comfortable beds and pillows. The amenities block is cleaned several times a day and is modern and comfortable too. We were able to make use of the camp kitchen which was small but useable. A suggestion would be to increase the cover of those BBQs as the rain meant that we couldn’t use them. With trees down in the area we were without power so a period however the staff worked in terrible conditions to sort it out. We would love to return in better weather.

The location amongst the bush is incredibly serene. The amount of stars you can see at night is amazing, especially while sitting at the camp fire toasting marshmallows. Animal feeding and pool on site is great for the kids. Some of the best beaches only a few minutes away. The reception staff is incredible, very friendly, welcoming and kind. She’s the shining face of the property.

Disappointed for sure and way over priced. The pool was full of floating hair balls. The glamping tents were way too close together you could hear every screaming child in the place from 5am and the shed/house of the workers that was behind of tent were up late and up early and speaking and swearing so loudly it was uncomfortable to listen to especially with my children. Not one bike worked and we were told they were very old and other guests had broken them. The fridge space was a tiny box and nowhere near big enough and everyday our food was stolen from the fridge. So not a great stay. Wanted to leave a few days early to be honest but the money we paid we persevered. We also left a charger in the room and emailed to have it returned but no reply.

After attending a wedding at this venue last week I have to say I left severely disappointed by the facilities and some of the staff. Young lady in the front office needed some serious coaching in how to treat clients and would struggle to get employment in any hospitality venue that I know. The accommodation huts were filthy with dirt and dust and unclean linen as well as being poorly outfitted for the price that they gouged out of the guests. At $100 per head for everyone they were getting $400-$500 per night for small 3 bed/one bathroom cabins that lacked the space required to prepare for a major event like a wedding The Chapel was sufficient on the hot day that we had , however in any form of bad weather it would have been a trek through mud on unkept paths and with little shelter for the ceremony. The "Wed Shed" as they call it was extraordinarily inadequate. They say they cater for max 120 people but with a group only in the 80s we were cramped and the wait staff struggled to serve due to lack of room. The shed has no fans or A/C and in temps under 30 degrees everyone was cooking in the shed. The large double barn doors open facing due west so even when they did open them to allow the breeze in, those sitting on one side of the tables needed sunglasses due to the blazing sun in their eyes. The outside area used for canapes had little shade, a problem that could have been easily overcome with some simple shade shelters. The pricing overall was just an example of a group using the fact that its a wedding to triple the prices for simple services.

The Woods is such a great property for younger kids with the animals, playground and gardens all to explore. The cottage was very comfortable with regular visits from the peacocks and the staff accommodating. And the beautiful Hyams Beach was a very short drive away.
