This was my first visit to Bodrum. I had been thoroughly researching hotels prior to my visit to pick the best bang for buck. Our pick was Susona, booked directly via Hilton app for 3 nights. Originally we booked a deluxe room with partial sea view but we got upgraded to king premium room with full sea view with balcony a few days before our visit! Travel time was about 30 min from airport. Arrival was great, concierge guy greeted us at the entrance, picked up our bags and we entered the main lobby. We also had to pay the deposit (it was about 300 EUR). Then the guy gave as a ride by buggy to our room and showed everything we had in the room. Cleaning service was good. The room is spacious, clean with an amazing view of the sea. We had bed and breakfast included. Breakfasts are good with variety of options. But the prices are above average so if you decide to have lunch, dinner be prepared to pay a good amount. The staff is very friendly so we had no problems with that. The hotel doesn't have sandy beach so to enter the sea, you need to use ladders (there are about 10 of these at the resort). When you enter the sea, it gets deep (about 1.7-1.8m) so I didn't really swim as I am not a good swimmer. If you want nice sandy beaches, pick another resort. There are two pools: one is an infinity pool, the second one is a pool at Frankie Beach Club. Guests staying at Susona can use Frankie's cabanas for free (even the ones that are more private), which we did. There are different cabanas: near the pool and near the sea, all of those are free. The pool at Frankie was warmer and the music and DJ were awesome! The ride to Bodrum city takes about 15min, the staff at reception can always call a taxi for you. We also visited Malva restaurant: the food is delicious although the portion size is small and way pricey. There was one slight negative moment upon checkout: originally, I had booked a room without a terrace, then I saw a price drop and, because I was within a cancellation period, I picked another room with terrace (the total price ended up being lower and I also printed my reservation confirmation). And after that I got freely upgraded a few days prior to arrival. During checking in, I showed my printed reservation and paid the price that was shown int it. But upon checking out, the guy at reception wanted me to pay the original price of the first room I booked (which was a room without terrace). He justified this by saying that there was some issue when I booked the room even though I had already paid upon checking in without any issues. Fortunately, I had a printed booking confirmation which confirmed the updated price. At the end, the issue seemed to be resolved and I didn't pay anything extra, the deposit was also refunded upon checking out with no issues. TIP: always have a printed booking confirmation with you! Overall, despite the slight negative at the end, the resort was amazing and I would recommend it to my friends.
