Chelston Dene Holiday Apartments

We stayed here for our wedding weekend with our family. The hotel is lovely and clean plenty of parking. The rooms are nice and clean comes with everything you need. Lovely place to stay including a massive garden. Hopefully we will return next year. Thank you very much

Set in an elegant, though hilly, area of Torquay, the garden is secluded, and alive with bird song. It is just 5 minutes uphill walk rom the railway station, and 7 minutes walk from the bus routes and sea front. Buses are numerous and frequent. Steve, the owner, agreed to allow us to park there from about 11:30 on the day of arrival, and in fact "booked us in" at that time too. He is a very friendly chap. The apartment has a spacious lounge area, with a king-size double bed and large-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. The kitchen/dining area is cramped with limited working surface for the cook. It is a well equipped kitchen, with a good cooker, microwave, and fridge, and there is a good set of pans. It lacked only kitchen scissors and a really sharp knife, and the lower shelf on the fridge door is broken, making storage of wine bottles difficult.. The washroom is very small, the shower enclosure equally small, and the wash basin is minute, but the shower worked well. On arrival, the apartment was spotlessly clean, and we left it that way. Steve was quite relaxed about our accidental breakage of a wine glass. We were very satisfied with our visit.

Its a bit unfair to mark it down but in the interest of honesty ive had to give a fair review. firstly the place is lovely and the owners are very friendly it was sadly the clientele that was our let down the people in the next room to us had 2 yapping dogs and liked a bit of an amateur DIY by the sounds of the tapping and banging at late hours of a night and early morning sounded like they where fitting skirting boards or knocking a few wardrobes together either way sleep was impossible so we left early just to make things better as we left to be snarled and barked at by there yapping dogs as they left there room. so all in all nice place no sleep and a very tired drive home
