Aluasun Lago Rojo - Adults Recommended

Overall great hotel and entertainment staff and facilities. There's some areas where facilities could be amazing and improved... For example air conditioning in the rooms as it was very warm and heating is set centrally at 17 degrees so had to turn it off and keep balcony door open all night but was still very warm in the room. It had traditional decor, but to make it a ten they could replace some tiles and make it more modern. White porcelain look to bring it into 2025. Dress code in restaurant needs removing as it's dated these days people like to wear what they want whenever they want in 2025. Or at least say for evening meals we would prefer if you would not wear beachwear for a more smart casual code. The evening meal is very continental some meats I couldn't eat so had more salads or ate out for lunch on tapas bars and restaurants. If they had an option for bed and breakfast I would have paid for that and ate out more. Or if they did all Inclusive the free drinks would make up for the lack of British cuisine in the evening meals. There were some things I liked and some things I didn't, so would give that only a 6/10 for choice. But not bad just not amazing

My sister and I have just returned from a 5 day break at the AluaSun Lago Rojo. From the moment we checked in we received exceptional service, especially from Belen. The hotel was clean and modern with spacious rooms. We had a suite which was on 2 levels and a small balcony. Breakfast was plentiful and there is good selection of snacks/light bites by the pool. We didn’t have an evening meal at the hotel so can’t comment on that. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the beach via a gate at the back of the hotel. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of sunbeds but we managed to get one on the days we tried. I would 100% recommended this hotel and will definitely return again.

Hotel was clean with friendly and helpful staff. Food was nice with a good range of choice. Room was comfortable and clean and the maids did an excellent job daily. Location couldn't be better with shops and seafront on the doorstep.would recommend this hotel for any type of break, would suit all needs

Good hotel in lovely area, food was OK, always something we were happy to choose. Roof terrace spoiled by guests throwing towels on beds & disappearing for hours. Don't know why as perfectly adequate toilets & refreshments. Staff don't question reserved beds even though the hotel fact sheet states that sunbeds should not be reserved.

What an awfully depressing change! I visited this hotel before and was so impressed! The staff and service were very good. My room was very comfortable. This year was very poor. My room as advertised and paid for via Jet2, a junior suite for 1, was infact a much smaller room with an all pervading smell of a rugby or gym changing room. Think dirty trainers. I eventually realised this must have been from the shower that wasn't properly sealed, so it leaked after every use and seeped and soaked into the floor. Awful. I had to buy air fresheners that still didn't combat the reek. Most of the staff were very polite and professional. 1 man in the restaurant called Albert was completely rude and unpleasant. Not a smile, not a greeting. I have helped write and implement hospitality training. Albert needs to be retrained or let go. Rule #1 is smile! The room staff were lovely. Some of the ladies in the restaurant were also good.

We stayed for 3 weeks on a half board basis, there was always something to eat, I found most of the food to be very good, some people complained that the food wasn’t hot enough for them… there is microwaves that you can use! All staff we encountered were excellent, happy to help in any way they could, and always had a smile for you. I didn’t get the names of the two excellent ladies on reception (one blonde with bob style and one with glasses and short hair, both there on our check in) along with Connor, the 3 of them seemed to be there 24/7. Also the bar/ waiting staff worked extremely hard, the young lady with long dark hair and glasses was so friendly and bubbly. Housekeeping always greeted you and kept the rooms clean, bedding and towels changed on request. The hotel is situated close to the shops, bars, restaurants and beach (a minute walk from the rear entrance of the hotel) Benalmadena Marina or Torremolinos seafront is around a mile walk from the seafront behind the hotel. Reception are happy to arrange a taxi or order a mobility scooter if you require one. A short walk from the front of the hotel is a main road, where you can take the bus to various different places, Mijas was €1.75 and took around 30 minutes. Overall, we enjoyed our time at this hotel.
