Logis Hôtel des Châteaux de La Loire

We’ve stayed here a couple of times over the years but NEVER again. We seem to have been unlucky to book a stay the night before the Tours marathon. The hotel seems to be full of very inconsiderate runners who have made sure that everyone in the hotel has been awake since 5:30am. The hotel is old and the rooms are not soundproofed in any way. Doors have been continuously slammed for hours, people knocking on doors and calling out names, every step trodden on the creaking staircase can be heard, and every pee and toilet flush from the rooms around can be heard as well. I know we have been unlucky on this occasion but any guest making noise can be heard by other rooms around. Definitely not conducive to a good nights sleep. It’s a shame we weren’t warned about this at the time of booking.

Such a great find, quite by chance, when we arrived in Tours on our way south. The hotel, in Rue Gambetta, is perfectly located for strolling around either the old town (St Martin) and the centre of Tours, with its shops and restaurants etc. We got a nice big room at a very good price, and the receptionist was really helpful, gave us a little street map (we don't know Tours) and we had a great meal in a restaurant in the old city. The bed was huge, the bathroom had a bath; both the room and bathroom were beautifully clean and seemed to have been fairly newly decorated. There were extra pillows in the cupboard (as someone who likes having two pillows, I love that), and extra towels too. The room even had a kettle and a little fridge (which was lucky because we had some milk in the car because we knew all the shops would be shut). We'll definitely be staying there again. There's plenty to see in Tours, beautiful buildings, a fantastic old theatre that has regular concerts etc., also the Musee des Beaux Arts... Loved it.

Très bon rapport qualité-prix pour un bon confort et un accueil efficace et agréable. Situation géographique excellente. Client depuis des années, je reste fidèle.

Buona posizione, buon servizio, camera adeguata. Complessivamente un buon rapporto qualità/prezzo. La convenzione con il parcheggio a 10 euro per 24 ore è molto conveniente e comoda

Hôtel très bien situé, personnel très agréable mais vieillot (peinture écaillée, sdb hors d’âge, pas bien équipé, moquette…) et mal isolé à l’intérieur…
