Hotel San Giusto

Had a brief 1 night stay at the hotel with family so we booked 2 rooms. The photos of the rooms on the website give a realistic view of the room, however captured with a very wide lens. They rooms have adequate space, but no where near what the photos show. The bathroom is also on the small side, and the toilet and bidet positioned in corners of the bathroom where they were impossible to use without contortioning oneself. No kettle in the room, although the minibar was well stocked. Room and bathroom were nice and clean, and the bed very comfortable with a firm mattress, and good pillows. Hotel WiFi was easy to log into, and had a good reliable speed. Staff was friendly and helpful throughout the stay. One bad feature is that even though they have a garage, it is not possible to book it. When we arrived it was already full, and we were sent to a public underground parking area about 300m from the hotel. Street parking in the area was impossible, as there were cars already parked everywhere. Special mention to the in house restaurant. They offer a full 3 course dinner (very good sized portions) at €19. The food quality was also very good, and a special shout out to the girls waiting on us. Both were very helpful, kind, efficient and friendly.

We chose Hotel San Giusto because it advertised having a garage for vehicles, which was our main reason for booking. When we arrived, there were no available spots in the garage, and we had to find parking elsewhere, ending up in an expensive public garage far from the hotel. The receptionist was extremely rude, saying, "Did you call me to ask if there was space?" and immediately ruined our impression of the hotel. His behavior made our stay unpleasant, with an attitude of "You don't have to be here, I don't care!" The room was modest with an exceptionally small, old bathroom. The breakfast was poor, and the staff, mostly young, seemed disinterested and unhappy with their job.

Do you like sugary things for breakfast? Then this is the place to go. Do you prefere fraiche vegetables and fruits? Better stay away. There is not so much as a slice of cucumber to be found at the breakfast buffet.

They cancelled one of our rooms for two nights and then charged us a lot more for that extra room to stay at Best Western! Called Best Western customer service two weeks before our trip to add an extra day to our two-day stay, and the customer service agent says we have too many rooms for five people. Unaware, the agent cancelled one of our room reservations.The problem primarily comes from the fact that the agent and the hotel did not communicate correctly. Anyway, we arrive and we do not have enough rooms. We are out of luck. It is not entirely Best Western San Giusto responsibility, but then to charge us $300 more when a mistake was made by Best Western is just unacceptable. Contacted Heather -- a manager in the customer service department -- at Best Western to resolve this and she says it is our fault. We did not cancel our room. I will never stay at another Best Western again. You have lost my business -- and would advise all others to stay away. When Best Western makes a mistake -- and it is a big one, they fail to take responsibility and you have to deal / pay for it. Terrible experience!

We stayed at an apartment associated with Best Western Hotel San Giusto, not in the hotel itself. Since we booked a VRBO property, which cancelled while we were in flight to Italy, we were grateful that we could get something on such short notice. The price was about 250 euros a night for three people, which I consider a reasonable price for something at the last minute during August. The apartment was well-furnished and down the street from the hotel so that we could easily walk to the hotel if we needed anything. We were able to cook, which helps save on expenses, although we certainly indulged in the local cafes. The location is near at least two bus lines although we were able to walk to the grocery store, the James Joyce museum, and San Giusto Castle, of course. The apartment has one bedroom with a double bed and a common room with a kitchen and living room. The kitchen is equipped with a stove, dishwasher, cooking and eating utensils, and a table for eating. The living room has a sofa that unfolds into a bed to accommodate three people. If you are a coffee drinker, there is a moka pot, which we used. If you are a tea drinker, you have to improvise a bit as there is no kettle.

Senza infamia ne lode ci siamo trovati bene. Camere pulite e garage molto comodo,buona la colazione. Sveglio il ragazzo alla reception così come il vigile portiere notturno che si accerta di chi arriva in struttura ,così si ha la sensazione di controllo e va bene. Abbiamo dormito al secondo piano e la camera era davvero pulita e comodo il letto. L’unico “ma”riguarda gli operai stranieri alloggiati probabilmente al terzo piano . Già dalle 5 del mattino hanno iniziato a urlare tra loro in camera e non abbiamo più preso sonno . Non ricordo da anni tale maleducazione senza limiti. Fosse stato mio l’hotel li avrei messi alla porta senza neanche le valigie perché certi ospiti non meritano di dormire con le persone civili. Però ci ritornerò alla prossima occasione e se ci saranno casi simili sarà mia premura segnalarli visto che non ho trovato stamattina al check out nessuno dei responsabili.
