Wow! That’s exactly what we said when we walked in and saw the view — absolutely breathtaking! This was one of the most incredible places we’ve ever stayed. We spent one night here in July as part of our trip and truly wish we could of had more time here. Everything about it was incredible — the staff were amazing, the food was delicious, and the view from the restaurant and bar was simply magical. We saw giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and elephants at the waterhole — it felt like a dream. From our bedroom terrace, we even spotted dik-diks and hyenas wandering below! We stayed up extra late that night because we didn’t want to miss a thing. Our room was fantastic, and had an an amazing view. Highly, highly recommend this truly an unforgettable place!

Wow, the last 3 nights of our 8 days Safari were spent here. This place is one of the first, if not the first, safari lodges and it has a wonderful charm about it - we treated ourselves to a suite - and wow - the room was just amazing! Overlooking the water holes we were treated to all manner of wonderful animals. The staff were amazing, attentive and could not do enough for you - don't even think about it - you must book the Kilaguni Serena.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights here in August. The view is absolutely breathtaking. We could have spent all day watching the animals at the watering hole. It was a little disappointing that on our last day some work was done to expand the water hole which meant we had the view of a bright yellow digger from the afternoon until we left the next morning. We understand the work had to be done and it’s for the animals but was disappointing nonetheless. The food was good overall. There wasn’t a huge range of choice but enough to create a meal. Our room was beautiful and kept spotless. We loved the balcony and sitting there watching the animals come and go - we actually saw more animals from our balcony at the watering hole than we did on our game drives! I’ve given it 4 stars instead of 5 purely because I have stayed in a more luxurious lodge in the past who offered extra touches.

We had a really wonderful relaxing time in this beautiful lodge The location is easy to get to from the main station on the railway line between Mombasa and Nairobi We received very warm welcome and attentive friendly service throughout our stay which was exceptional A big thank you to Gilbert in particular for making us feel so welcome and taking such good care of us throughout our day Thank you also to GEOFFREY our driver / guide for three days who made sure we saw all the wildlife that we had hoped to see Most importantly the location and the design of this lodge I’d quite unique and exceptional. You feel truly at home from the moment you arrive with the breathtaking view over TSAVO West national park with its lush greenery and mountains in the distance. The presence of two water holes directly in front of the lodge is truly unique and enables you to see all nature of wildlife throughout the day and night ranging from elephants to baby warthogs, Water buck, Kudoo zebra, Maribor storks , hyenas, buffalo etc to name a few Oh sweet was extremely spacious with beautiful views and very comfortable The buffet offered a very creative selection for every meal Highly recommended but truly relaxing safari break .

Amazing place to stay overlooking the waterhole where elephants, Giraffe,Ostrich,zebra,wading birds and too many other animals came to drink water. I could see this from my room and chose not to close the curtains so I could watch from my bed! There was a mosquito net around my bed each night to keep away the critters! My room was spacious and comfortable and kept spotless by friendly staff. There was a lot of choice of food to eat in the restaurant and eggs or pasta was prepared fresh for you. A most magical , authentic place to stay.
