Chiringuito Tulum

We had a great stay here. The hotel is clean and the staff very welcoming. We felt very appreciated. Especially Matthias gave us great recommendations on what to see in Tulum. We highly recommend this hotel for a great vacation. The best hotel in Tulum!

In March 2023, we rented out Chiringuito for our wedding weekend, accommodating our closest family members and bridal party, and hosting a Welcome Dinner for all 65 guests. After visiting countless hotels in Tulum, we found this special place and were lucky enough to meet Israel Juarez, the hotel’s Event Coordinator. From the moment he gave us a tour of the property, we felt an instant connection and knew we were in great hands. Throughout the planning process, we exchanged countless emails and messages with Israel, and despite managing many other weddings and events, he was always incredibly responsive and attentive. He consistently went above and beyond for us. Whenever we needed assistance, Israel was right there, offering support and handling everything with care. His attention to detail and genuine dedication to making our wedding weekend perfect made all the difference. Israel and his team made our friends and family feel incredibly welcome, and Chiringuito is fortunate to have someone as dedicated, professional, and warm as him. We left Tulum not only with unforgettable memories but also with a lifelong friend in Israel. We’re so grateful for everything he did. Thank you, Israel, for making our wedding weekend absolutely unforgettable. We couldn’t have done it without you!

Greed is one word. Overpriced place with overpriced bar. Some staff are really nice and try to make your stay pleasant, while others are there only for tips and they will mention that to you. Breakfast is not same for everyone. If you book more expensive room you get more breakfast. We had normal room and we were only entitled for continental breakfast (pieces of bread, butter and jam, fruit). We were entitled for one juice and 2 cups of coffee. Hilarious!!! We complained of course and afterwards we were “upgraded” to breakfast with eggs. Can you believe that?? For average price per night of 300 euros this is ridiculous. Some good staff. Rooms looks nice. Swimming pool is small but ok if you are alone. Mostly we were only at pool. Private parking. Beach in front hotel is covered with sea ****. Sea **** in sea as well.

Great location at the nicer end of Tulum. Directly on the beach. Our room was spacious and very clean. A nice relaxed vibe in this cool hotel. We only stayed one night but we enjoyed breakfast, the service was good and we liked the decor. A nice place to stay

We had a great stay at Chiringuito Tulum. We were there for 8 days on our honeymoon. It's very small and intimate, which was perfect for us, and less expensive than many of the other hotels in the beach area. The property is beautiful--right on the beach, but also surrounded by maintained jungle plants. We had a deluxe room with a private dip pool on the roof. The room was beautiful and very clean, and we loved spending time on the roof. Air conditioning and wifi worked great the whole time. The wifi even reached out to the beach with full signal, which was amazing. Every staff member at the hotel was friendly and approachable, great service. The food at the restaurant was amazing, including the very detailed continental breakfast. There were a few days that we had to leave the hotel before breakfast time to go on tours, and they gave us a boxed meal the night before that we could eat instead. The beach club was really nice and never crowded. There are tons of restaurants and shops nearby. The whole place was just calm, peaceful, and beautiful and allowed us to decompress and rest post-wedding. The only suggestion I have is that they add an in-house bike rental. The beach road is very long and Chiringuito Tulum is pretty far down the road, so it's not very easy to get into town or up and down the beach road without a taxi. There aren't bike rentals within a reasonable distance of the hotel so it wasn't super easy to move around.

Chiringuito is such a cute boutique hotel, loved the chill vibes and our beach view suite was gorgeous. However, we noticed that the place looked a little run down from 5 years ago, our walls inside the suite were leaking, water was pooling down from pretty much every wall in our suite. Our bathroom smelled like sewage. A roach found crawling on floor. We left our swimsuits out on the balcony to dry, when we returned from dinner our swimsuits vanished, and that’s when we noticed a raccoon on our balcony. The front desk returned one swimsuit but it had bite and claw marks. The prices for food and drinks were insane. $20 beer. $25 margarita that lacked craft and presentation. Our free breakfast was limited but tasty. We had a lot rain during our visit, and of course our one umbrella was broken. We had to ask front desk to provide us each with one. The staff did their best but they were under staffed and we never felt like we were staying in a luxury hotel. If these conditions were improved and the overall property updated, I would consider staying again because our room was very spacious for 3 people and the view from our suite was spectacular.
