I loved my stay at Glamping Mayan Glam! I highly recommend for anyone looking for a different travel experience than a hotel or resort. "Glamping" is the perfect description! After spending a busy day in town, it was so nice to come back to "Glamp" where it was so peaceful and relaxing. There are 7 dome style yurts- we stayed in #5. It had 2 full beds. The rooms are comfortable, spotless and so charming! The beds are on the firm side. The outdoor shower might have been my favorite part. The ground are gorgeous, with a nice pool, fire pit, hammock, swing and picnic tables. It's so well tended, the pool is cleaned daily, the flowers and palm trees are gorgeous and it's spotless while feeling very natural if that makes sense. Because Tulum is experiencing a MAJOR growth spurt, there is a lot of construction happening everywhere. We did hear some truck activity from the yurt, but I don't think it would be any more than you would hear if you stayed in the hotel zone, with the absolutely insane traffic there. Often times it rained at night which was a lovely sound in the yurt. They serve a "continental" breakfast of fresh fruit, toast and scrambled eggs (Mexican, regular, or sausage) every morning. It's very safe- as the perimeter is completely fenced and you park your car (if you have one) inside the gate for the night. There is an attendant there at all times and they are so kind and helpful. Miguel, the manager, was so nice and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely asked him for advice and tips and he was happy to help. (He also speaks English if that is a concern for you.) It is sort of right on the outskirts of town, with about a 20 minute walk to el centro. A car or a cab would be helpful but you can definitely walk if you'd like. There is no safe in the rooms for valuables, but they do offer a small padlock to lock up your yurt when you leave. If you don't want to remember their code, you can just bring your own padlock and provide them with the key or code so they can clean the room each day. I can honestly highly recommend a stay at Glamping Mayan Glam. Especially if you want to have a stay that is away from the bustle of town and want to go with something a little different at a very affordable price. P.S. We even spotted a Coati! I have a video of it but cannot add it here, darn. P.S.S. You are basically in the jungle that is right on the outskirts of town- bring bug spray!
