Wakax Hacienda - Cenote & Boutique Hotel

We have just spent 6 amazing nights at Wakax Hacienda. We felt truly looked after by every single member of staff right from the moment that we arrived. David helped us to curate each day that we spent at the Hacienda, with each experience being totally memorable. We loved swimming in the cenotes and paddle boarding on the lagoons. He also gave brilliant recommendations for things to do and see outside the hacienda too. It made a real difference to our stay. The staff at the restaurant and at the pool bar are so friendly and couldn’t be more helpful, always keeping track of what you’ve been up to and asking how your stay is going. We went to the yoga with Carla at every opportunity that we had, she was a brilliant teacher who was able to adapt each session based on the level within the class. I’m sad we didn’t fit in one of her treatments. The staff on reception were always so responsive on WhatsApp, making our stay much smoother. As for the hacienda itself, it’s so expansive, you feel like you have the place to yourself. During our stay we rarely had anyone else using the facilities whilst we were, so we had a whole Cenote to swim in just for us, and a whole lagoon for paddle boarding!! Our room was perfect, so tranquil and spacious. It’s very handy having the bikes for cycling around the hotel, most things are in a close proximity but means you can make a quick retreat from the mosquitos - but also explore the more expansive parts of the hacienda.

What an absolutely phenomenal hotel. Set in 400 acres of beautiful jungle, lakes and underwater caves - and with three beautiful swimming pools - this was such a relaxing and unusual experience. The staff are so helpful and charming (a special mention to the waiters in the restaurant, who made every meal time such an enjoyable time). David, the on site tour guide, took us an an extraordinary trip into the main cenote in the grounds of the hotel, and he was both fascinating about the background to the cenotes themselves but also very reassuring for those of us who suffer from claustrophobia! The bedrooms in the hotel really are luxurious and there are so many small touches which helped to make our stay so special, such as the nightly arrival of Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Another special mention - this time for the massage therapist, who was superb. And my wife loved the morning yoga overlooking the lagoon. The teacher, in line with everyone at this hotel - was knowledgeable, fascinating and just had a really special vibe. Overall, a rare find indeed and it’s highly recommended.

My wife and I had such a lovely time at Wakax Hacienda and truly could not have picked a better place to spend our time in Tulum. The only day we didn’t enjoy while we were there was the day we left the resort to go to the beach- lesson learned! The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was delicious, the place is truly expansive and so beautiful/interesting to explore, and the rooms were very comfortable. Special shoutout to Gonzo who made the excursion we went on with him so memorable! We will definitely be back and hope it remains in its wondrous glory!

Amazing. Way above the average Tulum experience. The property is stunning, with lush surroundings and a unique cenote that makes it truly special. There are plenty of things to discover within the grounds — from hidden spots to relax, to beautiful walking paths that connect different areas. The rooms are comfortable and well-designed, blending modern amenities with a charming local touch. The service was outstanding: friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with any request. Perfect for families, as there’s a great balance between relaxation, nature, and activities. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Tulum.
