Posada Lamar

So I want to be clear. We booked 4 nights at this hotel, but we did not get to actually stay here. The night before our trip the hotel sent a late night email telling us that because of a power outage we were being moved to a similar hotel just up the beach. We did not see the email until we were at the airport. The hotel stopped all communication and we discovered once we were in Tulum that they were not closed because of electrical problems but rather they were shut down by the government for some type of violation. I guess we feel lucky that they found us a room at another hotel, but it was missing some things that were very important to us. The new hotel did not have a pool, or working wifi or free use of a cenote or a restaurant and bar, all things we were expecting. All communication with the property goes unanswered. There is good reason to believe that this hotel will not reopen.

When we travel to Tulum, we always stay at Posada Lamar. The staff is friendly & helpful. The manager, Adrianna, is the nicest person. She does everything possible to make our trip easy & relaxing. A Continental breakfast is served to your room each morning. They have massages on the beach or private. This past year they added a bar/ restaurant and added seating & sun beds on the beach. The menu is burgers & fries. Our group ordered all of the burgers & they were delicious. The waitstaff is very friendly & easy to communicate with ( since I don’t speak Spanish). Can’t wait for our next trip to Posada Lamar.

Posada Lamar was an awesome place! We stayed right on the beach, the rooms are like huts and it was a once in a lifetime experience. It is not a five star hotel so don’t expect that. You truly feel like one with nature here. Staff is also amazing!!

Posada Lamar is our go-to spot! We’ve been here several times and decided to bring some of our family this time. It’s right on the beach with a little bar and a nice pool. Wooden, rustic vibes, and beautifully decorated rooms. No loud music at night, so it’s a great spot to actually relax and enjoy nature. The entire staff is wonderful and caring about the guests. I’d definitely recommend!

We stayed here for the first part of our honeymoon and overall loved the experience. Jorge and the rest of the staff couldn’t do enough for us! The location is perfect as it’s built directly on the beach and only a short and safe walk to several amazing restaurants.

Excellent location, near beach clubs, restaurants, pharmacy and small market. The personnel is amazing!! I needed to plan lodging for a bachelorette weekend and the front desk were extremely helpful. Although there have only continental breakfast, you can add eggs any style or quesadillas for a very fair price to enjoy a full breakfast on your very own patio. The pool is clean and super cute. They also have massage services by the beach, 1 hour for $45. Overall, excellent hotel, I will definitely stay there again. Thank you to Adriana, Carlos and all the other employees that made my stay and my girlfriends' an unforgettable one.
