Hotel El Manantial del Silencio

There have been some less good reviews of this hotel recently so I was a bit concerned as to what we would find. The hotel itself looks old but was only built about 20 years ago and has 20 rooms. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings and tiled floors and reasonably well equipped. There is no AC but it cools down quite well at night and you can open the windows. However the main road to Chile does run past the hotel and you can hear the trucks so you would not want to leave them open all night. The swimming pool and spa are across the lawn which is manicured by a llama. The pool is heated (covered at night) and was very pleasant even in the cool evening. The breakfast was pretty standard for Argentina but perfectly fine with plenty of fresh fruit. In fact they offer fruit for you to help yourself in reception. We didn’t eat in the evening though we did use the bar for playing games, it was rather dimly lit. There were no noisy children but some of the other guests were quite noisy in the evenings. There were tables outside as well. The hotel is in an amazing setting and to swim surrounded by the high rocks and gazing at a llama is quite an experience. The staff seemed very pleasant. It was a relaxing place to stay. Note there is no lift and quite a lot of stairs and steps so not ideal for the less mobile.

Lovely hotel, really attractive design and layout. Decorated in an old colonial style. Spacious room with comfy bed and decent sized bathroom with lots of hot water. Very nice bar and dining room. Had a great pisco sour made by Dante. Dinner was also good. There is a nice outdoor pool and an indoor jacuzzi. All the staff were very helpful.

The last time when I came to Purmamarca the hotel it was sold out,This time I enjoy this nice property and those employees help to have a wonderful stay Reception: Sara and Marine they made a excellent job as well Silvia,she was so attentive

The hotel is situated a very short walk from the center of Purmaraca, and is nice and quiet. While it looks like an historical building, it is actually a new hotel with a pool and spa. It has a warm and welcoming feel, filled with lovely artwork and furniture. The room was very comfortable, and the front desk staff was top notch, offering recommendations and help. A wonderful stay.

Trop proche d’une route internationale, hotel ayant des prestations allechantes mais non tenues. Chambre sans climatisation ce qui nous a obligés à ouvrir les fenêtres. La route proche avec le passage des camions ne nous a pas aider à apprécier la literie. Petit déjeuner quelconque et nous avons été surpris de nous voir refuser le fait de prendre cette collation dans le patio. Pour avoir demander un petit dejeuner à emporter nous nous sommes vus attribué un café et un croissant, pas d’eau, ni jus de fruit, ni autre proposition. Seule la wifi est gratuite, le sourire est rare.

Hôtel placé à côté d’un axe routier important mal insonorisé. La chambre sans climatisation oblige à ouvrir les fenêtres là nuit. Pas de télévision ni de mini bar dans la chambre. L’équipement sanitaire a été installé par un bricoleur débutant. Seul le wifi est gratuit. La décoration des parties communes est agréable. La chambre est simple murs blancs chaulés. La literie est acceptable. Nous avions demandé un grand lit et ne souhaitant pas être à l’étage nous nous sommes retrouvés en chambre double. Le sol est a restaurer pour certaines dalles. Le jardin est entretenu et bien arboré mais y prendre son petit déjeuner fut compliqué. Notre expérience est pour le moins déçue.
