It is so peaceful, loved the serenity and beautiful furnishings.

Bramasole is where an architect's eye, an artisit's heart and the passion of a rare furniture collector meet to provide the perfect spot to rest one's weary bones. I have stayed a Bramasole from time to time since 2013 and the guesthouse now is even better than in those magic days. The addition of the suites (e.g. Prague Room) is definitely a positive development. We thoroughly enjoyed the visual delight of the themed rooms. A dinner that we prepared for ourselves (charcuterie plates) in the boathouse with the fairy lighting around the deck completed an enchanted evening.

Bramasole was recommended to us by a friend who lives locally because of the beautiful setting. We were not disappointed and the access road from the R71 is an easy drive. The hotel building and setting is wonderful and the staff is friendly but the overall impression is that this beautiful location needs some TLC. Some examples: - The towel rail in my room clattered to the ground when I removed a towel. When I mentioned this I was promised it would be fixed. Sure enough, it was up on the wall again, but the minute I touched it it fell down once more. - The shower in another room floods the bathroom floor when used. - missing curtain hooks on the bedroom curtains - garden chair tore when one of us sat on it - empty soap dispensers in the bathrooms Please! Look after this beautiful place so that it can be enjoyed by future guests.

Bramasole Guest House **** in the Magoebaskloof Mountains is an incredibly beautiful and supremely comfortable stop to or from the Kruger Park. Start your Kruger holiday with a touch of luxury or wash off the Kruger dust on your way home. Vuyi, the manager, Katy the chef and all the other staff are so friendly, helpful and willing to please. Right from the first greeting, by a gentle dappled dachshund to the final farewell, we loved our stay. Everything is beautiful. Each room thoughtfully designed to fit it’s theme. And not only beautiful but every possible need is addressed. Breakfast was delicious and although dinner is not usually served, Katy whipped up a yummy meal for us so that we did not have to brave the pea-soup-mist to go out again. Of course the mist only added to the charm of a beautiful setting. We can’t wait to come back.

We have just returned from another weekend in what has become our favourite place to get away from Johannesburg. The Magoebaskloof area is beautiful but Bramasole guesthouse offers a magical setting. The rooms are individually designed so visit their website to take your pick. It is a 3.5-4 hour drive from Jo'burg, transporting you to a natural and idyllic world. It has its own forests to walk in and beautifully maintained gardens and ponds/lakes. Once you park up you can spend the entire time without needing to drive again. If you are interested in birds it is an absolute find! Over our visits we have seen so many special birds- wood owl, crowned eagles, bat hawk, fish eagle catching fish as we ate our breakfast, malachite, pied & giant kingfishers fishing as well, Drakensberg prinea & many more birds. The area around the guesthouse is easy and safe to walk on your own. The wi-fi is really good so we plan to take up the mid-week offers and work remotely from here. The work day would be so much more relaxing with a morning forest walk, watch stunning scenery as you work & relax in the garden/ lake when you finish. The breakfast, the cheese rosti's are so delicious. Friendly staff have a happy, smiley demeanour. Robyn & Melanie McIntosh, are a wonderful couple who host you in their home. With prior arrangement they would cater for vegetarians, vegans etc. I guess you have to just go & find out for yourself if this place will work its magic on you as it has on my husband & I.
