Silent Bungalow

Sudath and his family have a wonderful little place in the jungle, close to the national park. We truly recommend everyone to stay here it was a highlight of our journey. The rooms are spacious ans clean, with fans and private bathroom, and convenient mosquito nets over the beds.

We can’t thank/recommend this place enough! We turned up without a booking and Sudath and his wife were the most unbelievably kind and welcoming hosts. Silent bungalow is your perfect, peaceful stay in Udawalawe. They organised the the room, the food, the hospitality was just amazing!!! We can’t recommend enough you have to stay here if planning a safari/trip to Udawalalwe. It felt like a home away from home. We had the yummiest tea and cake, they helped us wash our clothes and also gave us a lift to the bus stop early morning when we had to leave. It was all perfect! Stay here if you’re looking for somewhere in Udawalawe!!!

Wow what a place , never write reviews but this deserves one. Caring couple really looked after me, giving me lifts and cooking me SO MUCH FOOD 🤤 I’m devastated I’m not being looked after like this now - highly recommend. It’s also set in a beautiful little village that’s great to explore on foot.

We couldn’t have liked our stay at Silent Bungalow more. On arrival we were treated to tea on our room’s large terrace, then in the evening had the tastiest meal we’ve had Sri Lanka(we’ve been here 3 months) - all the food is amazing! The room is very basic but airy, comfortable and spotlessly clean and the terrace is a delight to relax on. We arranged a 4 hour safari which was very straightforward and our driver was the owners’ son. He was very friendly, knowledgable and amazing at spotting animals. All in all it was a relaxing experience with a huge amount of animals seen. When we returned we were provided with an enormous breakfast. The owners were both lovely people - incredibly helpful and friendly. I cannot recommend Silent Bungalow highly enough.

Super hôtes ! Nous avons passé un formidable séjour chez Sudath. Accueillants et souriants, ils sont vraiment aux petits soins. Vous pourrez manger sur place un excellent rice and curry. Nous avons également profité de l'expérience safari qu'ils proposaient, vous partirez avec deux passionnés (le père et son fils) qui connaissent très bien le parc national et vous ferons vivre un excellent moment au contact des animaux sauvages. Nous recommandons +++

Sudath et son époux étaient aux petits soins pour nous, avec de délicieux (et très copieux) repas qu'elle nous a préparés matin et soir, avec beaucoup de recherche et d'inventivité. Son époux nous a fait profiter d'une (longue) demi-journee de safari absolument magique dans le parc, où nous avons pu observer des animaux magnifiques et profiter de ses connaissances. Le silent bungalow est un havre de paix au milieu de la jungle, génial !
