Premier Resort Cutty Sark

I recently stayed at this hotel for the first time (early December before the holidays), after frequenting the bar and restaurant for over 20 years. Booked through Discovery Vitality Travel, I secured an unbeatable rate. The refurbished hotel exceeded my expectations! The rooms are beautifully appointed, with modern amenities and spotlessly clean bathrooms - comparable to those in much pricier hotels! The family room, with two separate bedrooms, was a huge win for us. While breakfast variety could improve (7/10), the restaurant's pricing and overall service were great. Given its target audience and location, this quaint hotel is an excellent choice. We'll definitely return and recommend it to others! We were booked into room 214, adjacent to a stairwell just above the bar. It was worse than a shabeen.......drunken people up and down the stairs till 11:30. I would advise that you rather sleep on the beach than stay at the Cutty Sark. Not a place for families or for a quiet get away. A total waste of money.

Located about an hour out of King Shaka International Airport, offer comfortable rooms, great views, and easy access to the beach. If you love scuba diving, surfing or the beach, it's awesome. The hotel staff are friendly and happy to help make your stay as pleasant as possible. Don't forget the sunscreen. The hotel is also located about 8 km from an awesome cage shark diving spot, and about 10 km from crocworld, where they have daily feedings at 11 am in the mornings.

I had booked in with my family into Cutty Sark Hotel in Umkomaas, on the KZN South Coast on the 22nd. August, 2023. My daughter is unable to walk due to a serious recent illness and required a wheel chair. The staff kindly provided a wheel chair for free for the duration of our stay and went out of their way to accommodate us and make my daughter feel welcome. They have a room for disabled persons on their ground floor and it was of a very high quality of amenities and completely wheelchair friendly. Even accessing the bath WC facilities. We were very worried when we first made the booking because we did not know if my daughter would manage and the reception we would get from the staff for the extra work involved as this was the first time my daughter was going out after being hospitalised in bed for 8 months continuously. She had lost two thirds of her normal body weight and could not walk at all. This was a new experience for us. The only problem was the wheel chair ramp at the entrance to the reception area was a bit steep but the staff helped us to push the wheelchair up. From there it was plain sailing. Even to going outside and parking her wheelchair near the swimming pool. I want to put on record my sincere thanks to all of the staff of this lovely establishment for giving us a 120% experience. The rooms are modern, beds are super comfortable, linen spottlessly clean, bathroom well appointed and clean, serviced daily with super friendly efficient staff. The view ofvthe ocean is awesome but would be better if the windiws were a bit bigger and could open at a lower height.Dining is awesome first class breakfast buffet and al a carte dinner menu. Front of house staff very efficient polite and courteous. Safe parking, clean grounds and gardens and sparkling pool. Hotel has a generator to deal with load shedding when the power is off.

The worst waxing experience ever. Unfriendly manager and staff in the spa. I went for an urgent leg and underarm wax and might as well have not since the wax was not melted and I left having felt no difference was made even though the prices are more than market related in the area. Definitely not recommended.
