No8 Boutique Hotel - Self Check IN

We booked a ‘Quadruple/Family Room’ but the reality was completely different and unsafe. On arrival, check-in was confused, the contact number for staff didn’t work, and we were placed on the top floor with no lift — impossible for a family with a child and senior. The room was cramped, poorly equipped, and most concerning, had exposed electrical wires sparking over the bunk beds. The fan also failed repeatedly. These are clear safety hazards and not what was advertised. Conditions were so unsuitable that we had to leave early and find alternative accommodation, cutting short our stay. This property fails basic safety standards and misrepresents what it offers.

Cafe at No. 8 in Ilorin is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The decor is charming, with cozy seating, soft lighting, and a delightful aroma of freshly brewed coffee filling the air. The coffee here is top-notch—rich, smooth, and perfectly brewed. Whether you’re a fan of a classic espresso, a velvety cappuccino, or a unique signature drink, they have something for everyone. Their food menu is just as impressive, offering a great selection of pastries, sandwiches, and healthy options that are both fresh and flavorful. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure you have the best experience. Service is quick, yet they never rush you, making it a great spot to relax, catch up on work, or have a good conversation with friends. If you’re looking for the perfect café to unwind and enjoy high-quality coffee and delicious food, Cafe at House No 8 is the place to be. Highly recommended!

The hotel was ok. Abience was not very pleasent. Room was little congested. But there are no elevators so found it difficult to carry luggage upstairs. We were a group of 8 out of which 6 people were 60+ and hence found it difficult to climb the stairs up and down every now and then.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Very clean & comfortable. Loved the way it was furnished and the owner was extremely friendly and helpful. Located in a great little area and close to everything. Great coffee right across the street.

We came here late at night, so the auto check-in was great. The building is very nice, very nicely restored and well kept. The room we booked was a bit small but nice and clean. We had some drinks downstairs at the bar and the bartender even moved her car so we could park next to the building. We had a great night sleep and time overall. We will definitely be back

The location of this hotel is fantastic. It is close to restaurants and shops and a five minute walk from bus stops. I was nervous about noise with the hotel being over a bar, but the bar was not loud, mainly with local customers. More noise came from the street itself (people walking by and horse drawn carriages), but the noise was comparable to any hotel in a European pedestrian city center. Our room was updated and the use of the kitchen was a nice plus considering how expensive food is in Switzerland. My two areas for improvement would the key card system and furnishings. The key card was tied to your phone, but every time you left the building wifi would drop so you'd need to reconnect to wifi to get the access activated again (we did not have cell service on all phones). Also, the furnishings were creative but did not have normal hotel shelves to unpack and spread out. The price was very competitive for the area and with the use of the kitchen, we paid a lot less for our total stay than if we stayed at a normal hotel. Also, there is a fantastic balcony on the top floor with beautiful views and tables to have a drink or relax. The hotel also has a luggage storage room on the first floor if you get there early and there are multiple public restrooms if are traveling with others and your room toilet is in use.
