Scioto Inn

Wife and I stayed in Urbana for two nights and wanted to stay somewhere a little unique. This little hotel is ideally situated near the middle of town, within very easy walking distance of shopping, restaurants and cafe's. The owner, Richard, was very responsive to emails and extremely helpful while we were onsite. The Inn is very clean and well decorated with art from local, Ohio artists. The historic flavor to the Inn has been kept and has a small-town feel to it. The front of the building is a nice welcome as you enter through the front porch and enclosed public seating area. Our room was 203 at the top of the stairs. The room was very well appointed with a comfortable queen sized bed, a modern bathroom, sitting area, small kitchen area, and a back porch/sitting area. Unfortunately, it was just too cold to sit outside, but would have been a nice touch in the warmer months. Within the room there was more than enough room to hang coats (being December in Ohio!) and more than enough room to spread out. The kitchen area had a nice seating area, small refrigerator and sink, along with space to store some dry goods if we would have been staying longer. The Inn is very quiet, comfortable and well appointed.

Fantastic inn with antique decor and all the amenities you could want. We stayed in the basement suite before starting a road trip the next morning. Faint footsteps could be heard occasionally early in the evening, but the bed was quite comfortable (and high) that nothing disturbed us. Husband was quite impressed and already wants to visit again.

I was skeptical about staying in an Inn when I was traveling to Urbana for business because I’ve always stayed in a Hilton or Marriott and that’s what I was comfortable with. I was pleasantly SHOCKED when I arrived at the Sciota Inn. Not only was it immaculate, but it was cozy, brilliantly decorated, and so comfortable. Rich thought of everything and truly has a gift. The bed was seriously the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. It’s also centrally located and close to amazing restaurants (which Rich also recommended) within walking distance. I will be staying there every time I come to Urbana from now on.

Our stay at The Scioto Inn was once again, extraordinary.Rich’s attention to detail is impressive and without a doubt he goes above and beyond. The grounds are beautiful, the ambience is comfortable, beautiful and relaxing. thank you Rich!!
