Yunbo Youth Hotel (Urumqi High-speed Railway Station)

Very nice hostel with good view. It is near the train station.

The hostel is nice but the way to access the lift is not clear and confused.It is near Urumqi railway station. Quite good in location if you need to use train.Approach north entrance/exit if you want to walk to the hostel.

We loved this hotel! Close to the train station and public transport to get to the city centre! The hotel is clean and the room was cosy and nice. The staff was very professional and helpful, they made our first visit to the city very easy. Lots of restaurants right under the hotel! Highly recommended.

This hostel is very fun there is a shared living room inside it and the hostel is very close to the train station. Also the rooms are big and the bed is very comfortable

I stayed one night at Yunbo Youth Hotel. Overall, the experience was okay, but there’s definitely room for improvement. The cleanliness was average. It could have been a bit better. However, the staff and especially the manager were super friendly and helpful. The manager even helped me figure out a connection to Almaty, which I really appreciated! A nice bonus: they let me check in a bit earlier than usual, which was very kind and convenient after a long journey. I was hoping for a bit more of an international atmosphere, but most of the guests were local and aside from the manager, no one really spoke English, which made communication a bit frustrating at times. The location is great – very close to Ürümqi Railway Station, which is perfect if you’re continuing your journey by train. That said, the surrounding area doesn’t offer much in terms of shops or food options. The hotel was also a bit hard to find, but luckily there is a detailed description in the booking info, which helps. In terms of value for money, I found it a little overpriced for what you get. Overall: Very friendly staff, good location near the station, but average cleanliness and limited international vibe.

I did not have the best stay at this hostel, but it could have been due to unique circumstances. When i arrived in the middle of the night, the owner(or senior staff idk) was drinking and smoking with his friends in the commons. Whilst I was checking in with another staff member, they discussed among themselves where I could be from based on my appearance. As a young woman traveling alone, I found this moment quite unpleasant. I had booked the 4 people's dorm. They happened to be no other guests in the dorm that night. It was nice to have the room for myself. However, the room had not been cleaned up. My bed had been made, but on the trash was some trash and laying around. The previous guests had also smoked in the room. They had left their sigarettes floating in a noodle pot and the room stinking. I asked for another room. The tipsy owner first denied the room smelled, till we stood in front of the floating sigarettes. There was no other room available, so i slept there. By morning, the commons looked like a different hotel. There was a friendly and professional lady at the desk who checked me out. She also kept my luggage for the day, which was very convenient. For anyone who has never been in Urumuqi before, this is not the city center. The hotel is located in a tower close to Ulumuqi train station. It's convenient if you're hoping on or off the train, but you'll need a taxi to get you to part of the city worth visiting. Overall, I had a terrible experience, but it's probably not how most travellers would experience this hostel. And, it's quite cheap.
