Hotel Samay Wasi

Spacious, light-filled rooms with heating make for a comfortable stay, especially in colder months. The bathroom and shower are functional, and the hotel Wi-Fi works reliably—something not to be taken for granted in Bolivia. A convenient and comfortable stopover just outside the Salt Flats.

-20.45729°, -66.81877° Hotel Samay Wasi is often chosen by tour groups for their visit to the salt flats and temporary employees who have a job in town. It is a large yellow building complex on the northern edge of this dessert town. Two multi-storey buildings are connected by a low rise building with breakfast restaurant. It is located a 10-minute walk from town centre and has no restaurants nearby. The hotel offers basic accommodations without extensive amenities and previous reviewers reported inconsistent hot water, heating turned off early and limited breakfast for early departures. In April 2024, our room 420 was on the third floor (4F) of the rear building with a comfortable single and a double bed. The room was reasonable clean, shower was hot and Wi-Fi reception good. No tea or coffee in the room. The building has a lift. Simple and adequate breakfast was served with eggs. Hotel Samay Wasi is a basic stopover hotel.

Stayed as part of our g adventure tour. Enjoyed my stay here!! WiFi fast. Comfortable room, very spacious, great shower!! Only thing maybe a little cold.. Everything relatively close by in this town but hotel is in good location. Breakie included - adequate.

Have just stayed at this little hotel as part of our G Adventures tour. Old hotel but very neat and clean inside. Uyuni is a very dusty little town. Breakfast was more like continental but they did make us eggs when we asked. Wifi was very good. We ate lunch and dinner at a little restaurant in town. They specialise in pasta and pizzas. The hotel is in a quiet location but you can walk into town
