Mountain Lodge, les Crosets

Loved this hotel - with its crack team of young, enthusiastic, multi-lingual staff and chilled chalet vibes! The location is great with quick access to the vast Portes du Soleil area via a short drag just outside the hotel. At the end of the day you can ski directly back to base and leave your kit at the hotel’s own ski hire shop (again with super-friendly and helpful staff). Having stayed in various other parts of the Portes du Soleil over the years I found Les Crosets much more chilled and relaxed than other resorts in the area and it was noticeable just how much less crowded the slopes were on the Swiss side. That said, it’s just one fast lift to the French border, and you can be in Avoriaz itself in less than half an hour. Once off the slopes a cosy lounge with open fire or spacious south facing terrace (for those warm spring days) offer chilled après vibes. Or you can relax in the small but perfectly formed spa complete with jacuzzi plunge pool, sauna and steam room. There is also a games area with pool table and cinema that you can book for private sessions! The food is fabulous with generous portion sizes and a varied menu that caters well for vegetarians and vegans. Our room was spacious and charming with a wrap-around balcony and stunning views of the Dents du Midi. All in all we were very happy with our stay in the Mountain Lodge and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for a chilled but quality stay in the heart of the Portes du Soleil.

Went for a great lunch, sat on the terrace, and enjoyed the sunshine! This restaurant is open to people who aren't hotel guests. Great and friendly service in English and French..maybe other languages. Right next to the beginner's slopes, easy access to the Les Crosets main lift as well.

A beautifully clean and comfortable hotel with excellent staff and a lovely, welcoming atmosphere which is both vibrant but also very relaxing. Our party of four would like to give a special mention to Will and Gus who worked the bar, they were always happy, helpful and worked exceptionally hard to ensure our drinks were topped up!! The food is always outstanding with a good selection, and the service in the restaurant from Emilie and Charlene was excellent. We have stayed here several times now and it is great to see that the high standards are consistently maintained by Adam and his team.

I just wanted to leave a glowing review for Mountain Lodge. The trip began with a smooth and effortless transfer, we were provided with water and a snack which was perfect for the journey. The restaurant and bar staff were attentive, friendly and amazing at what they do, true professionals! The bar staff were on hand to pair wines with the food and made the most wonderful cocktails! The restaurant staff couldn’t have done more for us, providing a top class experience for every meal. The live music and quiz nights were fantastic ways to end our days with the opportunity to enjoy our time in the communal spaces of the hotel, providing a really intimate experience to the stay. The standard of the food and quality of the ingredients was incredible, the overall breakfast and dinner provided was beyond excellent. The daily specials were varied and the entire menu offered great taste and choice away from your usual mountain food. The presentation and taste was the perfect way to start my day and finish it off. The ski/boot room was really accessible and well laid out, with benches to get your boots on and shelves to store your kit. The heated boot warmers were a welcome sight at the end of each day. A private entrance to the slopes made it easy to start the day as we never had to compete with car parks full of people. Although I had my own skis, the shop looked really well prepared for hire, with some great options for skiers and boarders. I will further compliment the servicing options available, the team waxed and edged my skis and did a fantastic job and I’ll confidently return in the future. The spa is one of the best features of the hotel, after a day of being on the mountain it was really welcome. A quiet private space to unwind and relax in the sauna, hammam or pool all looking out to the most stunning mountain range. I’d book to return to Mountain Lodge based off the spa alone! The room was immaculate every day. The housekeeping team did an incredible job for our arrival and every day between, the quality of the bed and bedding was also fantastic and enabled some of the best sleep I’ve ever had after skiing! After a long day on the slopes or in the spa, having Rituals products in every bathroom added a touch of luxury to having a shower. Finally, I’d like to compliment the front of house team and the manager Adam. He runs a fantastic team and a fantastic hotel. The operation is seamless, from the delivery of afternoon tea, to the organisation of transfers- I really could relax and enjoy my time at Mountain Lodge. What you get at this hotel is one of the best hotel experiences in the Alps. The intimacy of the hotel, quality of what is served and the quality of rooms makes it difficult to leave in the morning to get onto the mountain, but incredibly inviting when you return at the end of the day.

Absolutely perfect. This was the most perfect ski holiday. I’ve been lucky enough to go on ski holidays for 40 years and this recent trip to Mountain Lodge was one of the best yet. Fantastic food and service. Excellent range of food choices at breakfast and supper. First ski holiday ever where I felt that healthy choices were possible and came back feeling I’d had enough vegetables; really excellent chef, kitchen and wait staff. Wonderful afternoon tea if you wanted it, The rooms were immaculate, comfortable and the new spa was such a treat each day. Another lovely touch was how personal and friendly the staff were and how much care they took to make it pleasant without being overbearing. The Christmas gingerbread house competition was a really sweet idea and enjoyed by everyone. It was a special holiday for us - 3 generations skiing together - and Mountain Lodge was the perfect host in so many ways. The ski technician was so helpful and the doorstep skiing offered the flexibility we needed for the range of ages and energy levels. I was happy and relaxed from the moment I arrived.

This is our second stay at Mountain Lodge it really is such a fantastic hotel. The staff always work so hard and can’t do enough to help. The hotel and the food is also spectacular. It has everything you need under one roof for both families and couples. We have no doubt we will back next season :)
