Sa Vall Valldemossa

A really magical place just on the edge of Vallemosa. We stayed in the newly converted outbuildings, waking up and going to bed with a beautiful view over valley/town and lovely mallorcan gardens. This place is full of character and charm (aswell as a couple of amusing cats)

This is a lovely hotel on the outskirts of Valldemossa…downhill! It’s only a couple of minutes’ walk to the centre, through beautiful streets, but the uphill nature of the walk makes it really somewhat unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues. Room was spacious and well furnished, adjacent t to the small pool. Breakfast was absolutely amazing - freshly cooked selection of items ad well ad the usual cooked meats/ cheeses etc….and an amazing view! Downsides…there are issues with maintenance E.g. pool needed maintenance - we didn’t see anyone attending to it in our 4 day stay…shower button was missing in our bathroom, but these are fixable, but do need fixing. Having said that, we would certainly stay again!

The farmhouse, though not too far from the centre of Valdemossa, is in a rural location. The centre of Valdemossa is a 10 minute walk away, via a warren of tiny cobbled streets. Our bedroom was huge with a lounge area and downstairs bathroom, all furnished in traditional Spanish style. Please note that the hotel cannot be accessed by car via the cobbled streets; car access is via the elevated main road (our taxi driver had no idea and had tried to collect us by attempting to navigate the cobbled streets - he had to park up and walk to the hotel!).

This was a quaint farmhouse. Our room did not have outside space and if I were to stay again I would make sure I booked one of those. We got the last room for our date and it was dark and nowhere near as pretty as the couple we looking into before we left. The staff is delightful and helpful. Breakfast was adequate and the omelettes delicious. Having somewhere spacious to park was high on our list and this was good. A short steep walk of 5 - 10 minutes depending on your fitness into the very pretty town was great. Wear trainers as the road stones are slippery even when dry!!! The honesty bar was a good touch. The garden pretty and the pool although small had good shade in the hot sun. I felt our room was maybe a little expensive

We were 2 couples walking the Dry Stone Path. This was a lovely place to stop. We had one room in the “old house” and one of the new lodges - one was quite quaint and the other was delightfully modern. The gardens are well worth exploring as is the pool, though sadly not in early April! Kids would love the farm animals down the hill, especially as the breakfast eggs come from the chickens. The breakfast was lovely, with a large selection to suit every taste. It’s only a short walk into the town where there are several delightful cafes and restaurants to explore

We were a party of three couples who had been trekking in the local area. We stayed in three rural hotels / fincas in the area. Sadly this was the poorest of the three. Welcome : there was none. Just a maintenance person who really didn’t have a clue about anything. Rooms : our main issues rested with the bathrooms. Poor showers ( buy some new shower heads for crying out loud), poor pressure and no thermostats, and toilets that didn’t flush properly. Fridge: we had a noisy big fridge dumped in the middle of the room. Surely this could have been discreetly built in? Breakfast : service was great but the ingredients and selection were a bit weird. Hot dogs? Omelettes were really excellent. Swimming pool : it was probably too cold anyway but it was full of twigs and leaves. You wouldn’t have used it. Location , garden and views were great. And the breakfast staff and service delightful. It could be so good. Make up your mind… are you a hotel, B and B or what? Old world charm can be combined with 2022 functionality in this day and age.
