I was not able to sleep well because the room did not have an air conditioner, so it was very hot at night in the summer time. I asked an old land lady about this matter. She told me, " If you feel hot, you can open the windows at night, but big spiders might come into your room, but the spiders do not hurt you". I was very surprised to hear what she said because I hate spiders. Besides, if I open the windows, the noise of buses and trucks coming and going was loud. Actually, there is a bus stop on the street in front of Point Grey Guest House! The tall trees and bushes around this B&B probably keep spiders and insects alive. In addition to the noise, the corners of the room smelled musty. What is worse, I had a cold. My cold was getting worse day by day. Eventually, I became a pneumonia. I was able to know I was pneumonia, when I read the medical record at the hospital later. Even when I had a cold, the old land lady was very unkind to me. As I visited Vancouver to study English at the University of British Columbia (UBC) for 2 months, I booked to stay for 2 months at Point Grey Guest House because it is close to UBC. However, I cancelled to stay this B&B and changed to stay another hotel downtown in Vancouver, I was patient and stayed at Point Grey Guest House for 2 weeks, though. I should have stayed there only one day. Honestly speaking, this was the worst accommodation that I have ever experienced in my life.
