Hotel Los Delfines

This 5 buildings property is well located in Varadero, lobby ine on 1st Ave and the others on Playa Ave, close to downtown and main facilities and services, restaurants, bars, by the ocean. No elevators to reach 1st,2nd,3rd floors, only granite step stairs. Great employees, nice, smiling and helpful. Property needs renovations in the rooms, bathrooms and general infrastructure, ocean salty wind deteriorates concrete, paint and rusts metals quick. Apropiate for families, couples, solos. In winter is better stay at west block by the ocean as per hot water system works great and main services are located in that area. Buffet restaurant offers daily variated menu's and servers do a great job, but when tipped it works better,...same thing at the cooking station and rest of the hotel bars. We could bring Cuban family members to stay at the hotel with us by paying cheaper rate in $CUP. There were many nationals as guests and just a few Canadians and Russians during our 2 weeks stay. We'll be back for sure probably next year!

Great location in downtown Varadero. Small hotel with big heart. Staff are all great.the concierge named pitbull loves Nutella as gift for his kids.. Rooms cleaned everyday,service is top notch, and the staff friendly, food is good but the same each meal. The grill station has a different selection each night, pork, chicken, fish etc.

Beach is the most gorgeous beach ever been to. Food was great. People were very friendly. I will definitely be coming back again. The vibe was just it for me Cuba you have won my heart. Beach food and people hands down the best experience. See you soon!!

Just like other reviews say. Older hotel, has its flaws, you have the basics, for the money flying from Toronto, you cant go wrong. Everything is within 20m from your room. Bar, restaurant, beach, pool. If you're traveling with picky people, dont go here, not worth your headache and complaining. People that work there are amazing, a tip goes a long way, we all work for money. Reynel is such a professional and kind bartender, ask him any drink or any coffee, and he knows how to make it, wife and i were testing him too, unreal haha. People in the hotel that come are usually older people, so getting people to play volleyball is a nightmare, but Osniel, Rudy just get the Geriatric people moving :) great and friendly guys. The DJ guy. I think his name is Emanuel, has a nice taste in music, i have Shazam-ed over 30 songs in a week heh. Plays lounge music in the morning while you have coffee(Thank you!) Food is good, if youre not too picky, youll be fine, Things to bring: Beach towel( so you dont depend on them) Extra hand towel Sweater(for cold nights, no heat in the rooms) LOTS of toys if you are going with kids. So many places where you can leave your child on beach and you have your "coffee" on terrace while overlooking them, this deserves a 5 stars itself. We gave ours away to local cuban kids after. - Hot sauce, different sauces, makes the food a 5 star hotel foods! - 1USD bills, 150$ for 2 weeks and you have excellent service everywhere, dont be cheap, and complain of bad service. You get what you pay for, you already have a good cheap all inclusive deal. Tip really well somebody within hotel, and ask him to exchange CAD/USD for Pesos for you at black market. Outside of hotel, pay in local pesos. Itll go long way, Massages in the hotel are dirt cheap, ends up being 19-20$/hr. Lady is experienced, its a relax massage, not chiropractor. Location is 5/5 4th time coming back at same hotel.

Los Delfines is a smaller hotel perfectly located in the middle of the Varadero strip & right on the beach. Yes the hotel is older, but it’s clean, beach is fantastic, staff are friendly and food is typical Cuban food. You definitely can’t go hungry !! The best thing about this hotel is the staff….an amazing group who try their best to make your vacation memorable. This was our 4th time at Los Delfines & will return again in December 2025.

In spite of some of the reviews I saw online, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the accommodations, and NOT surprised by how friendly the staff is. (I have always found Cubans to be extremely friendly and helpful!) The food is… Cuban. It is foolish to expect “American“ food in a country that has so little. But there was lots of it and it was very tasty! As a professional horticulturist, I was impressed by the gardens as well although I get that might not be as special to everyone else lol. The beach is SPECTACULAR! I haven’t been snorkeling here yet, but I hope to soon! Full disclosure, it is an old building, with imperfections, most I expect from recent storms. Still, it’s in very good shape and everything works (air-conditioning, water, power. As someone who’s interested in wildlife, there seems to be a fair bit around and I hope to explore the local ecological reserve soon.
