Hotel Olivedo

Room was ready even though we showed up quite early. Very welcoming. Seemed to know what we needed before we did. Great breakfast. Nice attached restaurant for lunch or just snack and coffee. Restaurant next door for dinner (or many options close by down the lakeside walk). Get a room with a view of the lake and you won’t be disappointed. Nice balcony to stand a watch the lake, boats & crowd down below. HIGHLY recommend.

The greatest staff we have experienced. Multi generation family owned hotel that takes great pride in providing an outstanding experience for their guests. Exceptional location with amazing views across Lake Como. Our room #15 had a great balcony overlooking the lake. Breakfast each morning from 7:30 till 10:00 was always outstanding with buffet items and made to order items. Very comfortable rooms and common areas. Right next to the ferries to all other locations on the lake. Also provide secure parking. We stayed for 9 nights and felt like family by the time we left! Internet also provided. There is a covered outdoor restaurant for lunch with sandwiches pizza, etc that was excellent and an outstanding restaurant behind the hotel for dinner.

This started with the warm family welcome that extended through the entire stay. The room had the best view across the lake, yes Varenna was very busy but this hotel is a great sanctuary to explore the surrounding area from. Whilst it is not a modern newly built hotel, you really get a feel for the character of the place. A very good breakfast was provided and they reserve the area for hotel quests only. Don’t be afraid to book direct, they were very easy to deal with and I was very comfortable in the communications that I received. My wife and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

My wife and I spent 3 days in Varenna. The hotel is the most convenient because of the very close proximity to the train station 5 min walk and the ferry to other towns being right outside the hotel but we knew that before we arrived. We arrived early in the day and were greeted at the front desk by the owner of the hotel who couldn’t have been nicer. What a sweet lady. We had an annex room with a great balcony that was going to be ready early,she said just give me a little time,leave your bags I’ll have them brought to your room. She then came and got us, walked us to our room. Room and view of the lake were amazing. Great little breakfast every morning. It was pouring rain the day we were leaving, the hotel arranged a taxi for us the night before to take us back to the train station so we didn’t get soaked walking back. The owner and all the people who work there who we came in contact with were A+++++. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again in the future.

Lovely hotel run by friendly owners. Ideally located in Varenna, right next to the ferry. Breakfast lovely too. The drop of 5 star to 4 star (albeit still very good) was the bathroom in our room. We booked the attic room on 4th floor and whilst the room was ok and the bed comfortable, unfortunately the shower was probably the worst we've had due to the fact it was a hand held shower over the bath with no curtain and built into a sloping roof so being 6 foot tall meant I had to crouch down to shower and also try and make sure water didn't go everywhere, far from ideal. I don't recall this information being in the room information when I booked either. However, don't let it put you off because everything else was great about the place, perhaps book an alternative room rather than a different hotel.

The location of this hotel is excellent, within walking distance from both the train station and the pier. Moreover, the service at this hotel is outstanding. The breakfast is also very generous, and I highly recommend this hotel. 这家酒店的位置非常好，无论是从火车站还是到码头，都是步行的距离。更值得一提的是这家酒店的服务非常好。 早餐也是非常丰富，非常推荐这家酒店。

Fabulous location with great staff and large comfortable room! (With a view) loved our stay here. Nothing was too much trouble. We were going on a day trip and had to leave early and they done us a take away breakfast bag each which was fab and a coffee tk take out.

I'll be honest when we first arrived I was a bit dubious how good the hotel would be from first appearances. After a warm welcome from the lovely owner we were shown to our apartment which was fabulous. Beautiful terrace overlooking the lake and extremely modern and clean. Bottle of bubbles in the fridge and TV with Netflix, Prime etc. Good selection for breakfast each day and the adjoining restaurant was the best we found on any of the lakes we visited.

Very nice family run hotel on a great location. We had the top floor corner flat with balcony, fantastic view over Varenna and the Como Lake. Very friendly hosts and impeccably clean. Good breakfast incl eggs. Good value for money, highly recommendable.
