Hotel Carlton on the Grand Canal recensioner

Lovely antique fashion room with view of the Grand Canal. Close to shops and restaurants. Opposite the train station. Helpful staff and hotel also can book trips and tours around Venice. Room doesn’t need provide kettles cups or spoons for hot drinks. Offers good selection of breakfast

The room is a bit small and it's quite far away from the city centre; takes around 30mins walking or 10mins by metro

The room didn’t had space for 2 individual beds, regardless our double bed were 2 individual beds glued together. Our room was the only room we saw without wallpaper, which was kind of a bummer in our 25th anniversary. Gladly we went on the weekend, otherwise it would’ve been a BIG NO to pay for a room with a view and find out that there is a construction site below our windows, on Monday the noise was unbearable. Regarding the meals it’s kind of annoying to have to ask the staff to bring back the food so I can eat just because they start packing 10min before the end of the scheduled time (10:30). In a 4 start hotel that is kind of a major failure. Despite this minor issues we enjoyed our stay in your hotel, this is just a way to help you improve but we would stay again there one day we decide to comeback. The location is amazing and the prices fair.

Water and electricity supply is not stable. Housekeepers step on my shirt and make it dirty that is so unprofessional

Hotel looking antique,clean n nice.However no electric kettle,coffee,tea,sugar n creamer sachets given.Room quite congested as outside view was facing other rooms.Lift available but Venice is not for old,sick,knee problems n with heavy bags travellers as we had to carry the luggages crossing few bridges to reach our hotel.

The rooms had an antiquated appearance, with outdated furniture and decor that felt more unpleasant than charming. While the bathrooms were manageable, the overall condition of the rooms left much to be desired. Our first night was particularly uncomfortable due to the absence of air conditioning, which made the rooms stuffy and difficult to sleep in. When we raised this concern, we were informed that the air conditioning policy—aimed at reducing energy use due to global warming—prohibited its use until May. This was frustrating, as we visited in mid to late April, and were instead advised to open the windows for ventilation. However, keeping the windows open led to a new issue on the second night: mosquitoes and flies. Their presence made it impossible to sleep properly for the second night in a row. While the staff were friendly and tried to assist, the disappointing condition of the rooms and lack of sleep significantly impacted our stay. Overall, the hotel's location on the Grand Canal is beautiful, but the outdated accommodations and discomfort made the experience less enjoyable than we had hoped.

Great hotel, appropriate service, polite employees and nice location in relation to station but a bit far from the main piaza. Nice European breakfast but it’s a major drawback - a/c didn’t work correct so it was so hot and stuffy. Opening the window is a rash idea because of the mosquitoes so be advised.

Fantastic location. Very family friendly, clean and lovely staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Calton on the grand canal.

It is convenient and is near to the train station and the bus station. Nearly all things are good, except there is some black spot on the washroom while showering and bathing.

You have to pay for water and I had to use the old key which is heavy so uncomfortable to carry around. Location is right across from the Santa Lucia station, but it was hard to get there with heavy luggage carrying up and down the stairs of the bridge. Rooftop not available due to the weather- rather visit during summer time. The room condition was okay. Looks bit old though.

Hotel was close but also quiet beautiful hotel room was lovely with Juliette balcony overlooking the grand canal breakfast was good nice selection and all the staff were helpful and friendly especially the reception would definitely recommend I would book again thank you for an making our 4 days

The location of hotel was great. Very near to the train station. My room was 5xx and it was very noisy. Seems like someone keeps on moving things upstairs.

So the place is mist central and nera by central station. But the room was terrible,the air conditioner is not cold,i yold that to reception and they give me a venta. But i need to told that sometimes that air conditioner is not working properly,for Venice is too much. Without air conditioner you can die on summer. So choose it right
