Hotel Mezzo Pozzo

The location is good, and the staff was friendly. One of the main problems was the absence of an elevator. The room was old and small for 5 people, window was broken, the door did not close properly, the furniture was old and broken, the breakfest was very poor, the bathroom floods. The price was similar to another better Hotels. Anyway, try another option.

Cancelled our booking 3 days before our arrival. They said they couldn't process my card. The card had more than enough funds to cover the booking. I changed my card on *********** and this was just ignored. Don't book this hotel avoid any disappointment

Very suitable lodging with friendly staff. They leave you alone for the most part but are available when needed. They were very good on the front-end (proactive) about telling us the best way to get from the airport to them — no problems! There’s nothing fancy about the place but it’s comfortable, in a great location (max 15 min walk to anything) and a good value. For a family of 4 it was great bc we didn’t need to get 2 rooms.

We wish we had seen the reviews properly before booking that awful place. Few days before we arrived they cancelled our booking because of a card problem (as they apparently did with many others before), we called TWICE to make sure that we still had a room. THEN Rebooked a room and received an email of confirmation. Today we arrived from abroad with a 4 years old and they had rebooked our room to somebody else, not a single care in the world. And completely rude as well, not even trying to help, absolutely unpleasant people . My opinion is that they sell cheaper rooms on *********** to make sure they are full at all times, and if somebody else wants to book a room with them at full price they just cancel the booking that they sold for a cheaper price and sell it to the highest bidder. This place is a scam. Honestly save yourself some time and trouble go ANYWHERE else.

I booked accommodation months ago with friends for our trip to Venice. The hotel claimed they couldn't pre authorise my card a few days before arrival. I updated my card details and I called my bank. No problem with my card. But the bank said there was actually no attempt at pre authorisation made on my card by the hotel. So I contacted the hotel and asked them to try again. Hotel claimed the card was declined again for pre authorisation. It made no sense. The hotel offered to check with their bank to see if the problem was on their end. I thanked them and waited for an update. The next day I find out from the booking website, not the hotel, that my booking has been completely cancelled. I called the hotel and was gruffly informed that my room had already been sold. So now you know the game. I spent the whole day scrambling around trying to find alternative accommodation and luckily found a hotel out at the airport instead of a deluxe room in the centre of Venice. I have learnt my lesson. Always read the one star reviews. DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.

If I could give 0 stars I would just based on the fact that they unceremoniously canceled my reservation 1 day before arrival. The reason they gave through booking message was that the credit card was invalid (which is not true, i had 7 bookings with the same card and I had no issues). I also called my bank abd they said no transactions were declined. Mezzo Pozzo hotel never picks up the phone and when I called the reception manager (Matteo) he was pretty rude and refused to talk to me (hung up). I had booked for 8 people and a baby and they didnt care, they probably overbooked for a higher price. I fortunately found an air bnb at a good price and same location. Don’t trust only what i am writing, do your own research and look at the other reviews and at the responses from Matteo and you can see he is very rude and uneducated. Stay away from this place and go somewhere else where you get good customer service. Ps: When i booked through booking I was provided Matteo’s whatsapp number and just before they canceled my reservation he blocked me. He also provided the hotel’s number for whatsapp messaging and they did the same.
