This quaint authentic Venetian B&B is located next to a quiet canal a stones throw from away from the tourist hub. We really enjoyed watching the gondolas and school children paddle by at the end of the day from our window. The room we stayed in #3 was clean, comfortable, and a nice size. The lovely breakfasts were served in a beautiful courtyard garden complete with daily cappuccinos. If you are gluten intolerant, no worry, because plenty of gluten free options are offered. We loved our host Mattia's sense of humor and appreciated his guidance on how to navigate in Venice. If we return to Venice there is no doubt that Ponte Chiodo will be the place we will stay along with all of the other returning guests. Thank you Mattia for making our stay in Venice perfect!

Clean and cozy rooms. A pretty courtyard and a house with a nice atmosphere. Present host, who makes time for his guests! I would at any time suggest this place to anyone who needed a place to stay during their stay in Venice! Thank you for a lovely experience!

This place is a beautiful guesthouse with it's peaceful courtyard is tucked away in a quiet street. The Venetian owner is very proud of his city and takes the time to ensure that all his guests are looked after. He has a list of local restaurants and itineraries. Highly recommend for a truly Venetian experience.

Lovely little gem, traditional, in a fab location, breakfast was lovely and very organised! The little garden as an added extra, being able to take breakfast out there. The host was extremely helpful with maps and ideas of where to visit which was very much appreciated. The rooms are clean and traditional in style with some lovely antique furniture my only very slightest negative would be perhaps the bathroom could do with a little upgrade next... Thankyou for our lovely stay.

I was subjected to what I believe is a racist comment made towards the British and Americans. Here is the conversation I had, you decide what to make of it: Me; ‘ can we leave our luggage after checkout please’ Hotel owner (HO) ‘Yes of course’ Me: my passport is in the luggage if they can be left somewhere safe please. HO: ‘I am sorry to say this but your British passport is useless and worth nothing, after brexit who cares about the British passport, we are the EU. I really don’t understand you British and American tourists who always think thieves want to steal your passports. In Italy we have thieves, but they steal money, not passports. You think people are after your passports, that is not possible.’ Whatever my political views and affiliations are, and whatever the political views and affiliations are of this hotel owner, the comments were unsolicited and totally inappropriate. Not only I felt personally attacked by the comments, I was baffled by the lack of understanding of identity theft by someone who operates in hospitality. There are few other problems with the property which really become secondary to the arrogance and terrible attitude of the host.

I really cannot stress how wonderful this exquisite guest house is. I was initially a little reserved about booking as I couldn’t see a ‘star rating’ and this made me a little nervous. In the end I decided to trust the reviews and I’m so glad I did! My 74 year old mum and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was perfect. Very much a home away from home. We stayed in the double room with garden view and although a little on the cosy side, it was still wonderful. The beds are comfortable, the room is spotless and a hot shower (the cubicle however may be a little tight for larger persons). We also had a lovely view over the exquisite courtyard garden. Mattia really does make the effort to welcome every guest and help out where he can (if needed). On our second day he took the time to join us for a coffee and plan out a day of walking the city via non crowded/touristy routes and pointed our areas worth stopping and exploring. Personally I found this so valuable. If you are reading this Mattia, thank you again! Breakfast was wonderful and to sit and enjoy it in the charming garden area was very special. As I said, I couldn’t recommend it enough. Tip: if you are staying in a garden room view, although it is very tempting to sleep with the windows and shutters open, remember there are mosquitoes in Venice so use the AC instead…we also found that there was a lot of noise from those returning home on the tipsy side! Not sure where from, but this went on until 4am…close the window and it’s not an issue.
