Experimental Chalet

A lovely stay ruined by fraudulent extra charges. We had a lovely stay here, very polite and attentive staff, nice food. HOWEVER after our stay the hotel tried to charge us for a plug adaptor we did NOT steal, fruit snacks we did NOT eat and minibar items we did NOT drink. This is a real disappointment as we had a lovely stay.

The staff by far are the best part of the hotel! Super friendly and accommodating! The rooms and views were also great. I was only supposed to stay for 3 nights, but ended up staying an additional 4 nights. So, think that pretty much says it all!!

We came back recently from Verbier, where we spent the first week of the year at the Experimental Chalet. It was an amazing experience. The warm welcome and the friendly staff, combined to the Art Deco aesthetics definitely won us. We loved chatting with the waiters every morning while having breakfast, in a cozy, jazzy atmosphere. Everyone from the desk to the waiters to the cleaning staff to the barmen made everything to make our life easy, letting us free to focus on enjoying our time. They took charge of everythig you needed, without having to ask and have rendered us a few appreciated favors (canceling a restaurant reservation for us, among other). Our room was very quiet, as well as our floor (3rd). Although there are tea bags and a kettle with mugs to make some tea in the room, I simply made a comment to a cleaning lady regarding a particular tea flavor and someone was at our door with a whole set of tea for me to enjoy, within 3 minutes. Toiletries are from a niche Sweden brand and everything you need is either available in the room (hair dryer, robe and slippers, classic hotel items etc.) with little extras for your comfort (mouthwash, cototn pads, etc.) or easily available upon request. We really appreciated the facilities (ski room, boot rack, locker where to leave our helmets and friendly drivers to take us to various ski points). The fod is excellent and the kitchen would always have fresh gluten-free bread and the staff would remember our preferences for coffee and several details that just made the service exquisite. The bar is intimate, elegant with a beautiful fireplace and the cocktails are well done. The location is perfect: in the heart of the village, near the services and restaurants (Le Chalet d'Adrien/ Le Grenier, La Nonna...). Not only we are planning on going back but it will become a tradition for us in Verbier! Lili & Alex, Canada

This friendly hotel is distinguished by its young and enthusiastic staff. We stayed for a week of skiing. Excellent breakfasts. Exemplary assistance with ski hire and ski guiding, and with booking a restaurant on the mountain. The drivers of the on-demand shuttle buses simply could not have been more helpful. We also enjoyed the spa, and an invigorating massage! The bar on the first floor is a delight. Dinner, though good, was a little too expensive for us - but there are plenty of cheaper restaurants in town. The front of house service was very efficient. It is difficult to find fault! (Perhaps to mention, the rooms are a little dark, although not everyone will mind.)

We stayed here for a few nights in the middle of the European heatwave. Mountain hotels rarely have, or need, air conditioning and we were provided with an efficient fan. We found our room at the front of the hotel rather noisy but this was attended to immediately and we were relocated to the quieter rear of the hotel. Hotel staff were charming and very helpful throughout our stay and are exceptionally well led by an excellent hotel manager. Good breakfast and facilities.

I stayed at the Experimental Chalet for a week with a friend. Overall, it was a great experience. The hotel is really well positioned and the team and service is excellent. Frenchie is a wonderful restaurant and the bar is a great place to relax and start (or finish your evening). One thing that really stood out for me was the quality of the team, who were upbeat, eager to be of service and excellent. Like another reviewer, would recommend staying on an upper floor at the property. Already looking forward to going back to the hotel for another stay.
