I have stayed at this Super 8 several times when in the area to visit family even though it is a little out of my way. I come back because this Super 8 is clean and the staff is always ready to help. They treat guests as welcome visitors. The rooms I have been in have backed up to the large Blains Fleet Farm next door and still the rooms are quiet. The wifi speed is not great, but it is good enough for my needs. The breakfast is heavy on carbohydrates, but there are good breakfast options in the area. Through my Wyndham Rewards program I have stayed at a number of Super 8's across the county; the Verona Super 8 is definitely a notch above the others.

Stay away! Place is a dump. Grungy and ill-kept. “Breakfast” is a joke. The only warm food is toast and they were out of coffee. GM is rude and arrogant. The area is a big bicycling destination and I came to the area an event. Unlike any other hotel or motel I’ve stayed in, they forbid bikes on the property. Meaning bikes have to stay on bike racks or in cars where they can be stolen. And the place is already so skanky and banged up that walking a bike in wouldn’t risk making it worse. When I checked in the first thing the GM asked me, after my name, was if I was biking and then proceeded to tell me about their no bike rule, which was also posted on a sign at the front door. When I told him it would have been nice to know that in advance he said they couldn’t know who was coming to bike. Apparently he didn’t see the irony in the fact that they obviously do ask if people are biking, they just wait to ask until you’ve gone past your cancellation time and are standing at the desk in need of a room.

Staff were very accommodating and provided shuttle to and from the conference I was attending. While colleagues at other hotels struggled with transportation mine was easy and stress-free. I would definitely stay here again when visiting EPIC.

I don’t know why they say they have a pool. For the past 2 years it has been closed due to covid. If you look thru the pool door, it is full and filter running. If they are going to rip you off this way, at least adjust the price,and change their web site.

Please don't get duped by the pictures on its website. The room was filthy and there were holes in the ceiling. The manager was very rude and refused to either let us have another room or refund our money. We went down the street and booked the night at the Marriott, which was much more pleasant. We also tried to dispute the charge with Wyndham to no avail because it was at the discretion of the hotel owner / manager. We were so disappointed. Please don't make the same mistake we did.

I booked this hotel during hunting season right after Thanksgiving as a quick pass thru stay for my girlfriend and I. The website pics looked good and it was only one night. I arrived at about 7pm to a dark parking lot with few lights and fewer cars. I was greeted by a locked entry door and a sketchy vibe. A service phone was on the wall to alert the workers and allow me access to the front desk. The woman and young man at the desk were friendly and nice. I got my key and I made my way up to the room. I had an uneasy feeling as I walked thru the halls. There was holes in the carpet with stains and bleach marks. The baseboards were all missing, however it did look as though they had recently painted the walls. The pool was closed and taped off (as noted in the website.) As I entered the room and was blown back by the heat that was running full blast. I turned on the entry light which was a florescent bulb that flickered and popped like a scary movie. I opened the window and turned on the ac to try and cool off the temp. The room felt cramped and dark even with lights on, there were some stains on the bedsheets and comforter and it just felt…off. I went and got some ice, back down by the front desk. My girlfriend had finally caught up with me and arrived. We positioned her car under one of the lights near the entry. We walked back inside behind a scantly clad gal with knee high fuzzy boots who met a gentleman waiting at the door. We made our way back up to our room at which time she agreed with my assessments and we said to ourselves that this wasn’t worth the stay. We grabbed our bags and went back down to the front desk. There was a family checking in so I tried to be discrete and told the manager that we had just checked in about 20 mins ago and we are gonna head down the road a little further before stopping for the night, but we hadn’t touched any of the beds or bathroom so it was still clean. He said okay I’ll take care of it and he took my key back. I didn’t want to bad mouth his family business in front of his customers or his family, no harm, no foul.…HOWEVER…I recently saw that I was billed for the entire stay. I called the hotel and asked if I could possibly be credited back for the stay because I had only been on the hotel grounds for about 20 mins (most of which was in the lobby and parking lot!) He asked my name and date of the stay. I told him, and then explained I had came back down and spoke with the manager that night and he said he would take care of it. The person on the phone (I presume to be the same person I spoke with that night) then became belligerent and said, “20 mins!?!? No! You can’t have a credit! You are wasting my time.” (By even asking) I said we hadn’t even sat down in the room. He repeated angrily, “you are wasting my time.” Without even offering to bill for a cleaning fee or partial credit he was done with me. I wished him a good day and we hung up just as quickly as we had started the conversation. Save yo
