Great hostel, clean and comfortable. The kitchen is complete with kitchenware. And lucky me, i can watch northern lights in front of the hostel

房間緊湊，共用衞生間和浴室間數較多，乾淨。

設施簡陋，沖涼設備很不方便，沒有風筒，熱水不夠熱，隔音較差，睡覺轉身上下格床會有聲響，房間很小，帶行李上下樓梯也不方便

廚房設施齊全，連調料都有，停車方便

The location is great, the hostel is centrally located in Vik and that's about the only good thing I have to say about it. Oh, the man working in the reception in the hotel was very nice and the bed was comfortable. I'm too old to stay at places like this, that are more than basic. I advise anyone over 25 to look elsewhere for accommodation, and if you still think it's a good idea to book this hostel, pack light. I had to lug my suitcase up two narrow stairs to my cubbard. The room had a bed and a chair in it, nothing else. Outside of the room in the hallway was a small sink. The room had one electrical outlet by the door, and no ventilation. You could hear every word spoken by the unfortunates who joined me on the top floor of the building. There was a small toilet on the first floor, and the rest of the toilets (3 of them) and 4 shower stalls were on the ground floor. There were no sinks in the toilets on the ground floor, they were outside between the showers and the toilets. The showers turned themselves off after 30 sec-1 min which I didn't really have a problem with, I just kept pushing the button every now and then to have a steady stream going. I would have liked to have a shelf or a chair or something in the shower stall to put my toiletries and clothes on while I was showering. There was one hook in the shower stall. I payed way too much for a stay in such a basic place and I will not recommend anyone to stay here unless your other option is camping.

Strange single temperature shower - you have to continually push a button like a shower on a beach. There is no way to adjust the temperature and the water pressure is a dribble if someone else happens to shower at the same time. Comfy bed and affordable private room though. Bring an eyemask in the summer - there is no way to really darken the window

Our family of 4 wanted to stay close to the Black Sand Beach, and make our own meals, so we decided to stay at the Puffin Hostel. The hostel is an older building, and has everything on the 1st floor; dining with plenty of seating, kitchen with a tall refrigerator & a couple of ovens with stove tops, sinks, separated showers & bathrooms. The room we had was on the 2nd floor (1st floor was common areas), and a small water closet was next to our room. In our room was hot (a window can be opened), and 2 bunk beds with towels and linen are present. Not many sockets on the wall, but we were prepared with double usb phone chargers. A grocery store is nearby & gas station (No man pump) & the Lava Show was a 5 minute walk from the hostel. Puffin hostel is in a good location, has a normal road (no gravel/dirt), plenty of parking, so if traveling the Ring Road on a budget, and VIK is on the travel itinerary, then here for 1 night works.

Abbiamo soggiornato in questo ostello perchè abbiamo prenotato un po' all'ultimo minuto e non abbiamo trovato un altro alloggio a prezzi decenti. La stanza era piccolissima, credo di non aver mai alloggiato una stanza così piccola, non ci stava nemmeno la valigia, abbiamo dovuto incastrarla tra i due letti singoli. La nostra stanza era al secondo piano e le scale sono abbastanza ripide. Sono disponibili due stanze docce per gli uomini e due stanze docce per le donne, devo dire però che erano abbastanza spaziose, con la possibilità di appendere gli asciugamani e i vestiti senza bagnarli. Noi abbiamo fatto la doccia per primi ed erano pulite. La cucina è ben attrezzata con tutto ed è molto spaziosa, ci sono infatti due lavandini, due piani cottura, un grosso frigorifero e un lungo piano di appoggio. Diciamo che, in generale, serve parecchio spirito di adattamento.
