La Posada del Torcal

What a marvellous place to rewind, yet with great nature at it’s doorstep and Andalusia’s marvellous cities within easy reach by car. Jurgen and Veerle make you feel at home. They are not only great hosts but great chefs as well. A great cosy “hub” for your Andalusia explorations. Simply loved it!

The hosts are knowledgeable friendly and welcoming. We appreciated them being flexible for us. The 3 course set menu in the evening was excellent. There are amazing views and the hotel is well apportioned and clean. A great place to relax (children over 16 only)

We found this Posada as it is just off the Andalusian coast to coast walking route and what a find ; we liked everything about it.The Belgian hosts are experienced in business and hospitality and it shows plus they have a sense of humour and are good company.Charlotte who assists when they are busy is also very pleasant and highly professional. Our room,Cezanne is spacious and has its own patio with the pool accessible through the garden which is a bit of a work in progress but they have tremendous plans for the place. The pool is big enough for a proper swim and there are splendid views from the poolside and it’s jacuzzi: how about an infinity pool guys ? Dinner is first class and good value with a fairly priced wine list. Most guests have their own transportation but it is also easily accessible by taxi from Malaga. There is great hiking and cycling available from the Posada. As you can tell,we really liked it here and will return one day.

The views are spectacular, the rooms are comfortable, the hearty dinners and opulent breakfasts are divine. The multilingual owners work ceaselessly, including preparing and serving both dinner and breakfast entirely on their own. Yet they always have time for a friendly word. As this is mostly a 2-person operation, housekeeping may be a little less than you get elsewhere. But it just doesn't matter, because the atmosphere is so welcoming, the setting is so gorgeous and the food is so great that you feel totally spoiled and content.

What a wonderful place. The best views and the most lovely hosts. We had dinner twice and it was so good. We enjoyed the surroundings, the food and the wine. We needed to go to our next stop. Otherwise we could enjoyed ourselves more nights here.

Wir haben dieses Hotel nur durch Zufall entdeckt. Vorher waren wir in El Torcal wandern und wollten von dort nicht direkt nach Malaga fahren und fanden dann bei einer großen „Hotelsuchmaschine“ dieses Kleinod. Es liegt malerisch auf einer Anhöhe mit einem schönen Blick gen Küste und El Torcal. El Torcal ist ca. 20 Minuten entfernt. Sehr ruhig gelegen. Unbedingt sollte man das köstliche Abendessen genießen (Feb 25 - 39€/pro Person) für ein 3-Gänge Menü. Frühstück am nächsten Morgen auch sehr schön. Das kleine Hotel wird von einem belgischen Paar betrieben, die sich sehr freundlich um die Gäste kümmern. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt ! Leider war bei uns Ende Februar das Wetter noch nicht so gut - aber trotzdem hatten wir noch 1 1/2 entspannte Stunden im schönen Garten.
