I went there only for one night with my family. However we did book the day pass for some of my family members that live in Pinar. We all fell in love with the food! As we are all Cubans we know when you taste a dish that feels like it was cooked at home by your grandma with simplicity but great taste. I regret not asking the name of the staff that took care of us but it was one of the captains (a lady) and a senior gentleman. They were an amazing team and I loved them. They were so easy to talk to and made us feel so comfortable. Also shout out to the barman who made us PiñaColada! We all loved it and how you never got tired of making us more, we want to go back for one last Piñacolada. I write this in English because I think that even though the place needs more attention (but given the situation in Cuba they are doing ok) the staff is beautiful and they deserve all the glory because without them, there wouldn’t be any spark to that place sadly, I felt like they were putting up a face for their guests, I could feel the pressure that they work on with the current economic situation in Cuba but for them to provide a respectable service and treat us so kindly, for me that’s a win and I would go back only to be served by them. In addition, Fide at the reception was so professional at all times, I was impressed that at the check-in time he tried to explain everything making sure not to miss anything, this part is crucial as a poor explanation usually causes confusions later on. There was also a lady assisting him that was kind and ready to offer help. Also for me, which was the most important part, they took care of my grandma, they had an accesible room for her, it was easy to move her around in the wheelchair, the staff was kind and respectful to her and it meant so much to me because she hasn’t gone out of the house in a long time, so I want to say thank you! Muchísimas gracias porque se merecen un aplauso que se oiga desde lejos y un salario enorme! Me being a hotelier (in Dubai) I understand them but mostly importantly I’m impressed by them and I’ve been reminded that service is a show that must go on and we can still impress regardless of the situation as long as it is done with love! Chapeaux!!! The rooms are basic, but I enjoyed them. Expect insects as you are in the middle of the forest. You have the medicinal water which are open 24 hours. They a nurse on site, I already mentioned the food, they have a grill section, and so close to the Cueva del Indio, also there is a shop right outside in Cuban pesos only, there are other local restaurants you can eat at around with great food also. You can ride horses and take pictures with a buffalo just 2 minutes walk, ask where you can rent a bicycle and enjoy the beautiful and peaceful roads. It wasn’t super busy when we went so it is great for families who just want to enjoy quality time but understand that you will see Cubans using the facilities.I think the place is a totally worth a vis
