The Stargazer is a perfect staycation/vacation cottage, welcoming guests to stay on a 68 acre tree farm with 8 Nigerian dwarf goats, 6 sheep & three dogs.
Our guests can make themselves at home, staying 100% private. You are welcome to bring crackers to feed the goats. We have new babies born in march every year!
The farm was recently quoted by Vinton Soil Water Conservation as a wildlife mecca, perfect for anyone looking to reconnect with nature & relax. Various species of birds, hawks, owls, deer, wild turkeys, geese & occasional bobcat may be spotted.

It was a cute place but was lacking towels and wash clothes like advertised. Better to take your own. The ones they also had there were small size. It had two small towels and one washcloth. If you like you shower each day and not share a wash cloth then bring your own.

Stargazer
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Stargazer. I loved the simplicity of just being still and soaking in the peaceful surroundings — plus, the animals were absolutely hilarious! The house was perfect for someone like me who loves nature but prefers to enjoy it through the beautiful windows rather than being out in the elements.

Nice farm stay
Perfect if you want to get away from the crowds but still be close by some attractions. Surrounded by nature and nature sounds with birds, goats, a rooster crowing, and the hosts super friendly dogs! The place itself was clean, the bed was comfy, and the hosts were super responsive to anything we needed.

Peaceful getaway surrounded by animals
Very clean, peaceful location with some friendly dogs, cats, sheep and goats to keep you company. We were even joined by a friendly Tom turkey. We love animals and this was right up our alley. I sat by the campfire( wood provided) and picked guitar and we sang songs until the wee hours. Very nice stay. Only downside were the bees/wasps

The pictures show what looks like a secluded cabin but in reality, you pull up to this driveway with another house and a barn, broken down trailer. Once you're inside the views in the back are very nice, but the property itself is not very inviting. The main thing was the heater wasn't warm enough we were freezing at night and especially in the morning. The firepit did not work it was blowing out the cold air. Also the fan and the ceiling around the whole house were very dusty. I think there's a well water because the shower smelled pretty bad. Overall it was ok but it needs an improvement.

One night momcation
This place is spectacular for peace and enjoying the country animals. The goats were super friendly and there is a sliding glass door that if you leave open, a cat will come in and make herself at home. The views are great and I would love to bring my husband back this fall for our anniversary!

Weekend getaway
We loved the quiet, secluded setting. It was just perfect for the 2 of us. The pets that visited us at the door were very welcoming and enjoyed the attention and love would recommend this location if looking for quiet alone time.
