Hotel Alpin Llogara

I stayed here for 1 night, I was part of an Explore tour group. Very comfortable room , clean and tidy. The toilet was in the shower, seemed odd but wasn't a problem. Staff friendly and helpful. We ate as a group in the hotel , everyone enjoyed their meal again service excellent. Varied menu.

This area gets three seasons in a day but the walking is amazing and the people friendly, even the insects don't bite (no kidding, I usually get bitten by everything but not here). Hotel has two different styles of room, some with wet rooms and balconies. The rooms are comfortable with all amenities, the restaurant serves a limited range of dishes well prepared. We found the staff friendly and helpful.

This is a nice little spot. It is kitty corner the Visitor Center. Check in went swiftly. All the rooms are on the second and third floors. My room was reasonably sized. If on the third floor, watch your head [as the roof is angled]. The bed was comfortable. There is no air conditioning but it is not needed with the cooler temperatures. One oddity was the toilet was located inside the shower. My solution for wet feet was to leave a towel on the floor in front of the sink. There is a restaurant that can seat more than 40 inside and more than outside. The breakfast area was left of reception. The fare was a bit rustic but the coffee was as good as I have had in the country and the butter was sweet. A sitting area on the third floor was picturesque with a fireplace with board games and cards available plus an adorable little raki barrel. Several hiking trails start near the hotel.

The hotel is situated in the middle of a National park in beautiful surroundings and woodland. The hotel looks the part when you pull up; but looks can be deceiving. There is no lift at the property, bedrooms spread over two floors. The best way to describe the bedrooms would be ‘outdoor pursuits centre lodge’ - wood everywhere. The bedrooms - Ours was a twin room, single beds. Bathroom with toilet outside the shower (which was an experience as most of our group had toilets in their shower). Hairdryer, TV and a wardrobe for storage. The room had a smell of ‘fust’ and damp; like it needed airing (or cleaning); there was mould on the ceiling above the bed - not new as the wall was black (see photos). This became a problem as the night wore on as I could feel ‘damp’ settling on my chest. A pokey little half window let air in through slatted metal shutters (that were shut on arrival). There was no air con. The bed was half made (just a sheet); the bed felt damp. Blankets are provided if you need (and spare pillows). Overall the bed smelled ‘damp and mouldy’. We didn’t unpack for fear of everything getting damp. Luckily only there for 1 night. The food - Ordered croquettes for lunch - the miserable waiter (could just have been a language barrier - English to Albanian) brought them, cold in the middle; sent them back! Clearly frozen and not cooked/defrosted properly before serving; also no salad or garnish as advertised on the menu. Decided against staying for dinner, opted instead for the fabulous little Italian restaurant just up the road. Oh dear for breakfast; no cereal, no yoghurt just a few continental breakfast bits. Fried and boiled eggs along with continental sausage. There was an array of stale biscuits in case you were hungry. Buffet style service, no staff around to complain to. Overall, the worse hotel we stayed in on our Explore Albanian Highlights tour. Could be so much more- but isn’t …

Appears to have been fairly recently refurbished to nice standard, but half the rooms open onto an ivy covered wall which makes them permanently dark. Could have done with a good airing as smelled dank. In some rooms the loo is in the shower cublical which is novel! Lovely to have a respite from the heat, there's no aircon but you don't need it! Hotel is on 2 floors, but no lift, so you need to be able to carry your own bags. Resto and breakfast were both lack lustre.

Très mauvais hôtel, personnel tres mal poli et leu serviable, ne séjournez pas la bas. WC dans la douche, pas de climatisation dans la chambre. Literie très mauvaise. Télévision très petite. La WiFi fonctionne mal. Petit déjeuner très mauvais. Fuyez.
