Review of Kaya Artemis Hotel, Cyprus We came here with my family for a holiday we had really been looking forward to, but unfortunately, from the very first moment we arrived, it has been a huge disappointment. The sea is truly beautiful, and the food is tasty – I have to admit that. But the accommodation is an absolute disaster. The moment we entered the room, it almost killed the holiday mood – hair everywhere, dirt, an awful smell, sticky old furniture, and peeling walls. The bathroom is so disgusting that I honestly hate stepping inside. Everything feels old, neglected, and dirty. Yet the hotel presents itself completely differently online. I tried to solve it with an upgrade, but it didn’t really change the overall impression. We still have 7 days left here, but honestly – I already feel like going home. For the money we paid, this is not what anyone expects from a vacation.

Anyone who *doesn't care* about an air-conditioned room with a pleasant cold is welcome to come to this hotel. Otherwise, keep your distance. We are in a Holiday Village duplex room built on 2 floors. The upper level is for the parents, and the lower level is for the children. The room is well built, large, and suitable for families. But in terms of the air conditione? They are not adjusted to the size of the room, and most importantly, they do not cool well. The air conditioner in the children's room is excellent and cools. But the air conditioner in the parents' room is worse than ever. How do you know and feel that an air conditioner is cooling in the hot summer? How do you want the air conditioner to work? Very simple, you don't wake up several times in the middle of the night, sweating and sticky. A good air conditioner that cools will make you curl up under the blanket and have a good sleep after an exhausting day in the pool and sea under the sun. With us, the exact opposite happens. Our sleep was not sleep. The air conditioner is not cool, and the experience of staying in the room and certainly the experience of sleeping at night is simply bad. We have never experienced anything like this. Despite our numerous requests to the hotel's service - by phone, via WhatsApp and also physically at the hotel reception - maintenance personnel were sent several times claiming to have fixed the air conditioning, but nothing changed. The air conditioning in the room is simply not good, period. They said there is no issue, so this is they standard. If this they standard, I will definitely not recommend to come to this kind of room and hotel.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely fantastic. After four consecutive years vacationing in various Turkish resorts, we decided it was time for a change. We were looking for the same high level of service Turkey offers, but with better beach conditions — and what we experienced here far exceeded our expectations. The first impression of the hotel was breathtaking. The grand Greek-inspired architecture immediately set the tone. We stayed in one of the Holiday Village buildings. While our initial reaction to the room was a bit of disappointment due to its older furniture and visible wear, everything changed when we stepped onto the beach — it was simply perfect. I honestly can't imagine how it could be improved. There were plenty of sunbeds with solid, stable umbrellas. Several beach bars were just a short walk from the loungers, offering drinks, snacks, and ice cream throughout the day. The sand was silky soft, and the sea had a very gradual entry — ideal for small kids who can't swim well yet. The first 20 meters of the sea are shallow and safe, so children can enjoy the water on their own. Another highlight: apart from two windy days, the sea was calm with barely any waves (just around 20 cm). This meant the sand didn't get stirred up, and the water remained crystal clear the entire time. The only downside on the beach was that the hotel staff didn’t enforce any policy on reserving sunbeds. Many of the best spots remained empty for half the day, just because someone had placed a towel on them and never showed up. The same issue happened at the main hotel pool — after 9 AM, it was nearly impossible to find an available lounger, even though there were only 5–10 people actually in the pool. Thankfully, our kids absolutely loved the water slides, and there were always available sunbeds at the slide pool area. Speaking of water slides — they were fantastic. From mini slides for small children to fast, adrenaline-pumping ones, including those with float rings. Lifeguards were present at all times and ensured safety around the slides. One big issue we’d had with Turkish resorts in the past was overly strong air conditioning — both in rooms and restaurants. That wasn’t the case at Kaya Artemis. The AC was comfortable and effective, but not freezing cold or blowing directly on us, so we could finally enjoy our meals without having to hunt for a table that wasn’t under a cold draft. The all-inclusive service was by far the biggest highlight. The variety and quality were leagues ahead of similar resorts. From high-end ingredients to a wide selection of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, the offerings were truly impressive. Sushi, tacos, tortillas, and even Italian pasta served straight from a Parmesan wheel — everything was excellent. Our kids especially loved the waffles, available during the day at the beach and in the evening at the hotel bar.
