Maliekal Heritance Cherai Beach Cochin

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location is great and really unique having the sea on the one side of the property and the backwaters on the other side. The pool and the gardens are beautiful and well maintained. Our room (Tranquil Jaccuzzi) was spacious, comfortable and clean. Personally, we don't necessarily need a Jaccuzzi in our room, but it didn't bother us either (it was the back part of the bathroom). We loved the breakfast at the hotel restaurant across the road called the Waves, especially the different delicious Indian dishes. The staff was so friendly and attentive, especially Lula, but also Bubi, Aakarsh and all the other employees. Eyverything was great! The only minus point from our side: The outdoor part on the river side could be done so much nicer. There are too many things and a lot of them are broken (raft, boat etc.) They should be removed/disposed, then everything would be perfect!

Maliekal Heritance Resort , Cherai, was a reference from couple of my friends and I was excited to book a stay there.Unfortunately, due to a family medical emergency , I had to cancel it .And since I had done the booking via website, I did the cancelation too through that route.The amount taken for booking was stated to be refunded at the time of cancelation.Little did I know that the amount was taken as penalty charges.Anyways, I requested the staff, Ms. Pranitha and Mr Manish to kindly consider as I was unaware regarding the same and also I would like stay there on a different date ( as I had to deal with the current family medical emergency).I had also sent a mail regarding the same in the website mentioned email.I also requested them to give the number of the senior executive in charge of the resort to directly discuss the issue as both had not been helpful in resolving the issue. Both of them kept on stating regarding how it's already in the system and kept on repeating regarding ' CANCELATION POLICY ' instead of helping out the customer and they haven't given the number as well, esp Mr Manish kept ignoring my calls.It's been a very disappointing experience, and I have decided never to stay there. Esp when the staff in authority doesn't want to understand and help the customer. The resort owner can keep the 5310rs for the welfare of the resort. I shall let my network know about the hospitality of your place. Thankyou.

Great place, excellent service. Best of both worlds, backwaters & the beach all in 1 location (they even have their own private beach). Mubashira at Waves restaurant was super friendly & helpful! Francis at reception was amazing & really helpful! We would recommend this place & definitely stay again :)

We had an absolutely amazing stay here. We booked the family suite, which was incredibly spacious, spotlessly clean, and equipped with all the premium amenities one could ask for. The pool overlooking the backwaters, the charming chai stall set up in a boat as a snacking area, and the adjoining restaurant were all fantastic additions. The beach, located just across the hotel (a mere 30-second walk), made our experience even more convenient and well thought out. From the reception to room service, the staff was exceptionally hospitable and proactive in assisting us throughout our stay. A special shoutout to Bijo, a staff member who truly went above and beyond. His kindness, friendliness, and willingness to help made a significant difference in our experience—his assistance was the cherry on top of an already wonderful stay. We cannot praise him enough! Although we didn’t get a chance to use the cycling and spa services, they are excellent options that we might explore on our next visit. Overall, a flawless 5-star experience for me and my family!

We had planned to come to the Maliekal Heritance a few years ago but the trip had to be cancelled due to Covid. So we were really excited to come and stay here in February. The hotel is a short drive from Cochin airport, it's located on a small strip of land called Cherai Beach. It's a beautiful spot with the backwaters behind the property and the sea on the other side. Arrival at the hotel was so cool, with lots of staff coming out to welcome us and taking our bags. The hotel is very smart from the outside and the welcome from the staff was lovely. I have to say the staff are incredible at the hotel and at Waves restaurant across the road. I would like to thank Francis, Shiji and Alvin who were all very friendly and attentive. Big big thank you to waiter Nandru (I hope this is spelled right) and Josep the lovely security ***, these guys really looked after us during our stay. The pool area is really smart with very comfy beds so you can while away the time listening to the birds and wildlife which abound the area. The room was really clean and well appointed with a nice balcony overlooking the pool and backwaters. I always try to be honest in my reviews and we did have a problem with our aircon for a couple of nights but this was dealt with after a couple of minor complaints. This was our only complaint, apart from this our whole experience was great. We loved the food at Waves, the staff were great. Cherai Beach was a good spot and had nice restuarants but wasnt too busy. The games room, basketball net and bikes for us to use were a good touch. All in all a fabulous stay, I really recommend this place and would love to come back someday.

A charming authentic and unaffected small hotel. Less than 20 rooms and very easy to navigate. The staff go out of their way to do anything you ask as nothing is too much trouble. Housekeeping was good, but a bit hit and miss regarding topping up sugar and tea stuff. My two gripes were 1) the wet rooms are lovely but not well sealed with the consequence that the bathroom floods every time you use the shower and 2) not enough sun beds around the pool, only 8 in total. Special praise must go to Waves restaurant which is the hotels offering. Again really lovely staff and their evening food was within our top 3 in the area. Cherai beach itself is an authentic Indian beach holiday, ***** with all that entails… Great fun, chilled and charming and most definitely not your usual European break.
