We stay here quite frequently when visiting family but I felt compelled to write a review to share with potential customers. Our previous stays have been ok but there are a few things that need to be pointed out. The room was comfortable enough though looking a bit tired now when compared to other Premier Inns. Because it was warm and stuffy we slept with the window open. If you want to do this then ask for a room on the opposite side from the pub. As soon as they switch on the kitchen extractor system it is noisy and likely to disturb your sleep. My other gripes refer to breakfast. On the first morning there was no honey, the only fruit was a few manky apples and the toaster was cheap and slow. Not surprisingly the next morning the toaster was nowhere to be seen as it had broken and this morning there was honey but no marmalade available and no fruit at all. I went down at 9.00am and was told they stop serving hot food after 9.00 because they had to get ready for lunch! There was no mention of this anywhere on the literature that I could see. I felt particularly sorry for the Italian couple with two youngsters who struggled to understand this, along with me. All in all the sort of start to the day nobody needs. One got the impression that the staff in the pub providing breakfast were totally stressed out but, to their credit, they did their best and were very friendly. My recommendation is you get up early if you want a decent breakfast but be prepared to experience shortages.

Tired old Premier Inn. Room average but tatty in places. I arrived 2:45pm and they wanted to charge me £10 to check-in or make me stand in empty reception for 15 minutes. Pedantic and rude receptionist. Not pleasant after I'd driven 3 hours to get there.

Stayed in a family room with my mum and two children. All the staff at the hotel and in the breakfast restaurant were so friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spotless. The pub attached was beautiful, lots if character.

Having stayed at a number of Premier Inns over the years including this one on two previous occasions the last four years ago I was very disappointed. The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly, approachable and efficient but the hotel is very tired in desperate need of a refurbishment. The carpet in the room was stained and badly worn. The shower curtain rail was held on with Gaffa tape. The sheets on the bed weren't quite big enough to tuck under the mattress. The hot water to the bathroom sink was instantly HOT! A real issue when it's not a mixer tap. Previously an evening meal at the adjoining pub was exceptional. Unfortunately no more. The menu looks inviting but the fish and chips on the first evening was clearly all frozen food, similar to what you might get at your local supermarket. Edible? Yes. Tasty? No. Value? No. I had booked in advance for three evenings but cancelled the second and third.

The staff were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. The room was lovely and clean. Conveniently located near family we were visiting.

Very friendly and helpful staff; good location; comfortable room, no lift to get luggage upstairs but reception helped my parents find a downstairs room due to their mobility issues; good pub next door but unfortunately breakfast was poor.

Definitely not up to par for typical Premier Inns. Non refundable room booked for 2 nights. Room not cleaned well. Garbage under bed. Remote under bed. Room not made up. Tea and coffee supplies all lying on bare counter so needed to be cleaned. Reception suggested we could make the extra bed if we wanted or they could have housekeeping do it. Housekeeping lady very nice, apologetic for the state of the room. Several attempts to speak with management ignored. Very frustrating. Some feedback from hotel management would be appreciated. We moved on to a Premier Inn in Liverpool for 2 nights and had a very good experience.

Simple straight forward and know what to expect from a premier inn. It is an older venue so not as modern as some premier inns but it does exactly the job it needs too, clean and efficient. I stayed on the ground floor nicer looking the car park (19) which was ideal
